GROUP
“Mediterranean University” is a part of the Atlas Group which has
grown into the one of the leading regional companies in Southeastern Europe. The past years of development, brave ideas and accomplished goals are the proof that a good vision, commitment, cooperation and good business ethics lead to success and pave the way
to the future with endless possibilities. Our good entrepreneurship, a

Atlas Group has over 25 member companies in Montenegro, Serbia,

spectrum of activities such as: investment banking, retail banking,
brokerage services, manufacturing, pharmacy, trade, consulting, real
estate, construction, engineering, hotel management, tourism, radio
and television broadcasting, art, education and sport.
Atlas Group is organized of a modern management group which
aims at improving existing activities, investing in new projects and
creating synergy among Group members. In Montenegro and Se-
rbia, Atlas Group actively contributes to social development within the
fields of education, culture and sport.
Convinced that the prosperity of Montenegrin society lies in the affirmation of young and well-educated people, in 2000 Atlas Group
started to award scholarships to the best Montenegrin graduates.
This project confirms the dedication of the Atlas Group to corporate
social responsibility, while providing permanent education and thus
ultimately helping the economic and social empowerment of the society. Atlas Foundation identifies education as the key for success,
believing that the future and progress of economy and entire society
significantly depend on educated people. After eleven years, the
Atlas Scholarships project established its reputation while motivating
young people during the whole period of their university education,
with many of them receiving the support of the Atlas Group even later
on. Since the founding of Mediterranean University Podgorica many
of our students were awarded Atlas Scholarships. Some of them,
upon getting their degree, became part of professional team of some
of the Atlas Group member companies and in such manner gave
their contribution to the further development and prosperity of the
enti-re Group.

Mediterranean University Podgorica
University "Mediterranean" is the first private university in Montenegro. It was founded on 30th of May, 2006. Since its founding, the
University “Mediterranean” Podgorica functions as a single legal
entity in accordance with the Bologna Declaration. University consists of six faculties:

The quality of study programs at all faculties of the University was
checked in 2008 by the expert committee of the Council for Higher
Education. The University has been reaccredited for the following five
years which is an indication of the high quality of our work. The report
of the expert team, among other things, states: “The team was very
surprised how much the University 'Mediterranean' has developed
and created a solid foundation for rapid future development with the
ambition to become a high quality regional university” The University
is undoubtedly and fully committed to enhancing the quality of studies in a systematic and organized manner in order to be modern,
flexible, comparable, competitive and efficient. In that sense and in
compliance with the Bologna process, there is a continuous work on
increasing the quality level of all activities at the University - teaching,
study programs, grading system based on the introduction of the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System - ECTS, textbooks
and literature, equipment of study rooms and other areas, information system, scientific research, publishing, selection of teaching and
administration staff, library, lifelong learning, international cooperation and other standards.
INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION
“Mediterranean University” Podgorica continually works on establishing and improving cooperation with European and other universities. That implies realization of numerous activities such as: teacher
and student exchange programs, common research projects, participation in seminars and other academic gatherings, professional training programs and other activities promoting academic cooperation.

University actively participates in European cooperation programs
such as: TEMPUS, ERASMUS MUNDUS, CEEPUS, UGRAD,
ERASMUS etc. International Relations Office regularly organizes
Info Days with the aim to promote these programs and mobility projects, informing students and staff regarding current scholarships,
seminars, conferences and internships. Also at the Office, university
students and staff may get all other relevant information and professional aid regarding the application process for the mobility projects
as well as other projects which contribute to university development

and prosperity. Starting from July 2010, the University partnered in
international mobility project EUROWEB (EUropean Research and
EducatiOnal Collaboration with WEstern Balkans), due to which our
students can spend part of their studies on one of the prestigious
European universities such as: Westminster University (London,
Great Britain), University of L’Acquila (Italy), VU University
(Amsterdam, Netherlands), University of Paderborn (Germany),
Abo Academy (Finland), Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski
(Bulgaria), Politechnica University Bucharest (Romania) or Universitat de les Illes Baleares (Spain).

“My choice upon graduating from gymnasium was to go to Mediterranean University first of all because it offered the studies I wanted,
and because I was previously awarded for being a straight A student and laureate I did not have to pay tuition. Introducing myself
to professors I was pleased with lecturers at my department which
reinforced my decision. A very important matter for all students is to
choose a university which promotes exchange programs and gives
opportunities to study and specialize outside our country. Mediterranean University promotes student exchange programs. I spent
my second year at the university in US, as a GLOBAL UGRAD program scholar and now I am Erasmus Mundus EUROWEB mobility
project scholar. I am very pleased with everything that this program
offered me as well as the cooperation with both universities – Mediterranean University which though far is always “online” via Internet
or phone to help us in some unexpected situations, and Malardalen
University which accepted us as their students. I feel like at home. ”

HONORARY DOCTORATES
Mediterranean University has awarded three honorary doctorates in
the period between 2008 and 2011.
PHILIP KOTLER AWARDED AN HONORARY DOCTORATE
FROM MEDITERRANEAN UNIVERSITY
In 2008 an honorary doctorate was awarded to Philip Kotler, the
world's best-known expert in the field of marketing research, a worldrenowned scientist of great capacities. Professor Philip Kotler responded to Mediterranean University invitation and held a seminar
"How to deal with fundamental marketing challenges”. Ceremonial
awarding of Honorary Doctorate took place on 21 of June 2008 at
the Faculty of Tourism in Bar. On this occasion rector of Mediterranean University professor Janko Radulovic surrounded by most
prominent people from Montenegro, Atlas group leaders, Mediterranean University academic staff and students awarded professor
Kotler with doctor honoris causae diploma.

Željko Bogetić was awarded by University rector, professor Stevan
Popović. After award ceremony, Bogetić delivered a presentation
“Economic Policy After the Great Recession”.

On 22 of May 2011 an Honorary
Doctorate from the Mediterranean University, at the Faculty of
Tourism in Bar, MTS – „Montenegro Tourism School” was awarded
to Bill Clinton, the president of
USA between 1993 and 2001, a
respected law professor, a winner
of many awards and honors,
founder of “William J. Clinton
Foundation” initiator of „Clinton
Global Initiative” with the aim of improving scientific and technological innovations, implementation of new technologies, solving
poverty issues, ethnic and religious conflicts etc. Diploma was
awarded by professor Duško Knežević, Atlas Group president, and
after the ceremony president Clinton delivered a speech to the best
students of Montenegrin universities.
STUDENT PARLIAMENT (SPUM)
Student parliament of Mediterranean University – SPUM, Podgorica
is a representative body founded in order to realize projects of importance for students.
DISTANCE LEARNING SYSTEM (DLS)
Possibilities for studying and testing long distance through Internet connection is becoming a need of each university, faculty or
academy. Development of Distance learning in the world today
has reached one of its breaking points. A great number of worldrenown academic institutions apply, as a mandatory component
of modern education, this manner of studying which is also in their
curriculum and has become our reality too. Faculty of Information Technology, Faculty of Tourism, Bar – MTS “Montenegro Tourism School”, Faculty of Business Studies „Montenegro Business
School”, Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Foreign Languages as
part of their programs offer Distance Learning System. Faculty of
Information Technologies has during preparations and introducing
such manner of education paid attention to recommendations and
experiences of leading world institutions and organizations which
prescribe certain standards and quality enabling systems during
long distance learning teaching.
Some of most important projects which Student parliament does are:
Debate club
There is a Debate club at the university which meets once a week. Club
accomplishes excellent results at various competitions both in Montenegro as well as abroad. At the last state debate competition for the
best debater of Montenegro a student of Debate club of Mediterranean
University won. Debate club is open to all students, and from time to
time there are also public debates on various topics.
Volunteer club
Students also formed a Volunteer club where educational training is
often organized as well as various humanitarian activities. One of the
activities especially noticed was humanitarian event “We were children

once as well” which was realized by the students of Mediterranean University Podgorica in cooperation with the Red Cross devoted by International day of child.
for students to rest from exam terms. This is a great opportunity for students to have fun, meet young people all over the world and exchange
opinions, experiences and stances with them, as well as to be a part of
cultural and social events in the country and abroad.
Study visits and guest lectures
Students of Mediterranean University often visit various state bodies and institutions, companies and organizations which are related
to their field of studies. In that way they are enabled to extend the
theoretical knowledge they get at the university and gain practice
and skills.
It is important to stress the cooperation with the international organization IAESTE which awards students of Mediterranean University with a
certain number of free internships abroad each year.
Outings, trips, parties
SPUM take care of student activities after classes so students often organize one day outings and trips which represent an ideal opportunity

In cooperation with tourist agencies each year we organize excursions
and journeys. During the last few years multiple excursions were organized, where students through friendships and fun had a chance
to be introduced to history and culture of the most beautiful cities of
Europe (Barcelona, Paris, Venice, Monte Carlo, Firenze, Nice, Cana,
Corfu, Vienna, Munich…).
Also, the representatives of student parliament organized numerous
theme parties, movie nights and gatherings for which there is always
a need for “more room”. In cooperation with University International
Relations Office, SPUM through its Facebook page regularly informs

students about current scholarships for student mobility, internship
programs, volunteer jobs and etc. The office of Student Parliament
are based in business center “PALADA” and they are open each
working day from 11-13 a.m.

SCIENCE & SPORT
ALUMNI CLUB
With a desire to enable their graduates to keep in touch as well as
share experiences and knowledge Mediterranean University started
a project regarding the opening of Alumni Club.
Our goal is:
• To establish and nourish relationships among graduates of
all generations
• To promote cooperation between the members of Alumni
Club, business entities and other social institutions
• To promote club member’s accomplishments
• To contribute to greater community of graduates
• To contribute to personal and professional development of
individuals and organizations
• To actively take part in social development
• To enable friendships and connect graduates
The task of Alumni is to promote, strengthen and in accordance to
its abilities develop a network of knowledge, experiences and simultaneously contribute to University reputation. First phase of realizing
this project implies forming a database of all students who graduated from one of the organizational units of our University and that
phase is completed. The next phase implies founding a Center for
Career Development which would enable fast and available information exchange among members but would also represent job,
Basketball club “Mediterranean University” was founded in 2006. It
plays not only in university league but also in professional Montenegrin league. Club has competed in the basketball 2006/2007 season
in second Montenegrin league and only after a year managed to get
higher ranking for the competition – I B league.
Mediterranean University and karate club “Budućnost“ traditionally
organize karate tournament GRAND PRIX „MEDITERAN”. The key
goal of organizing a tournament is to connect science with sports,
that is to popularize sport among student population.
Through sport as extracurricular activity and through recreational
and competitive sports activities Mediterranean University wants to
offer the best possible studying environment for their students.

Welcome to the Faculty of Tourism!
We congratulate you on the right choice you have made. You have come to the faculty which has
the team of the eminent professors and teaching assistants who motivate our students to successfully master the courses in the curriculum. Our students who have completed their undergraduate
and postgraduate studies proved themselves to be very successful managers and leaders in the
field of tourism. At our faculty, we offer all our students the skilled supervisor to follow their progress,
two-month international internship in hospitality and tourism industry after the completion of the
second year of the studies, interactive relationship between a student and a professor, lectures
from both visiting experts from abroad and local know-how, the participation in various projects
owing to our continuous and extended cooperation with other similar faculties from the region and
abroad, economic organizations, tourist associations, etc.
It is our great pleasure to build together the pillar of our competitiveness in the tourism industry

Faculty of tourism Bar - MTS - „Montenegro Tourism School”
The Faculty of Tourism “Montenegro Tourism School” was founded
in 2004 in Bar as the first private institution of higher education in
Montenegro. At our faculty, we offer our students two undergraduate
study programmes (Tourism Management and Hospitality Management) to choose from in order to obtain their Bachelor’s Degree.
If students choose Tourism Management study programme, they
can decide between Tourism Management Module or Hospitality
Management Module. Students can also continue their studies by
enrolling the 4th Year (the postgraduate specialist studies) and 5th
Year (the postgraduate master studies) where we offer two study
programmes - Tourism Management and Hospitality Management.
PhD studies in Tourism Management started in the 2008/2009 academic year and they last for three years.
If you want to enroll the undergraduate academic studies, you
will need to provide:
• High School Certificates for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Year
(original documents),
• High School Original Diploma Paper (original document),
• Birth Certificate,
• Application form (you will receive the application form at the faculty).
If you want to enroll postgraduate studies, you will need:
• Bachelor’s Diploma,
• Certificate of the Exams Passed,
• Birth Certificate,
• Application form (you will receive the application form at the faculty).
Educational process
Educational process consists of workshops and case studies. The
emphasis is put on the constant interaction between students and
lecturers. During their studies, students are provided with: mentor
work, lectures delivered by guest international and domestic experts, visits to hotels and other tourism companies, study visits to
many places and regions relevant to the development of tourism in
Montenegro, and in-house training at local and international tourism
companies. Students can take specialised exams for which the Faculty of Tourism is licensed by the Ministry of Tourism of Montenegro.
As a special teaching method used during undergraduate and postgraduate specialist studies, faculty organises the process of studying via Distance Learning System – DLS for all students who cannot
be present at the lectures.

Dear Colleagues,
If you wish to improve your potential for success as a motivated graduate of our undergraduate studies, you will be able to prove yourself in both the domestic and foreign markets. If you wish to prepare
a good basis for your further personal and business development, our postgraduate studies, specialist and Master's, will enable you to do this. We devote special attention to the acquisition of not only
theoretical, but also practical knowledge and skills. Active learning and development of managerial
competences are characteristics of the business modules of our educational programmes. We particularly focus on the knowledge in the fields of marketing and financial management, communication
skills and critical thinking.
Learning business as a science is focused on the quantitative disciplines such as finance, marketing,
accounting, statistics, e-business, etc. However, we also teach the art of modern business, that is,
development of the ability to think beyond the data analysis and to probe potential outcomes not
predicted by numbers. For this purpose, we engage first-rate teaching staff. We also provide modern
working conditions and close links with the industry, particularly through work placement. We have
developed a unique model of the programme of study in Montenegro, with the use of high-quality
textbooks. We cooperate with and recommend our students to local business partners. We focus on
professionalism as our motto and the manner in which we deal with our stakeholders: students,

Faculty of Business Studies „Montenegro Business School” - MBS
Faculty of Business Studies “Montenegro Business School” - MBS
was established in 2005, as the first faculty in Montenegro for the
education of highly qualified specialists in the field of financial and
marketing management. The Faculty offers two undergraduate study
programmes: Financial Management and Marketing Management.
In the third year of undergraduate studies students choose one of two
fields of study within the Financial Management study programme:
Banking and Insurance or Accounting and Auditing, or one of two fields
of study within the Marketing Management study programme: International Marketing or Public Relations.
The Specialist studies were introduced in the 2008/2009 academic year
and the Master’s studies in the next academic year and both represent
a continuation of the undergraduate study programmes
As an acknowledgement of our work on the internationalization of study
programmes, in the 2012/2013 academic year we launched the MBA
(Master of Business Administration – Management, Finance and Agribusiness) postgraduate study programme in the English language, the
only of its kind in Montenegro. It is a result of successful cooperation
within the Tempus project “Development of Business Training in Montenegro”, and is intended for both experienced managers and those who
aspire to become leaders in different business environments: small
and medium-sized enterprises, marketing companies, banks, insurance companies, local self-government. By offering multi-disciplinary
knowledge in various social sciences, primarily management, finance,
agribusiness, economics and marketing, the MBA programme is de-
signed to link theory and practice, thus meeting the needs of the contemporary labour market.
The specialist study programme Management of Protected Areas
with two fields of study – Management of National and Regional Parks
and Urban Heritage Management, as well as the specialist study programme Accounting and Auditing, delivered in the Montenegrin language, also represent a novelty in our academic offer.
In addition to full-time professors and teaching assistants, the Faculty
also engages eminent professors from the country, the region and
Western Europe, as well as renowned experts from practice, including
the representatives of the Central Bank of Montenegro, commercial
banks, auditing companies, marketing companies, etc. The Faculty
develops cooperation with numerous institutions of higher education,
including the University of Debrecen (Hungary), Wageningen University
(the Netherlands), Budapest Business School (Hungary), Scottish Agricultural College (Great Britain), Belgrade Banking Academy (Serbia),
Faculty of Economics of the University of Belgrade (Serbia), Faculty of
Organizational Sciences in Belgrade (Serbia). The Faculty is involved in
the MSDNAA programme (Microsoft Developer Network Academic Alliance), and on the basis of this membership, students are able to make
free use of the Microsoft software packages. All study programmes are
based on the provisions of the Bologna Declaration and the norms and
standards of the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS). A blended
study mode at our Faculty allows students to combine work and study,
by using the Site platform for distance learning – DLS. Presentations of
seminar papers and other assignments, taking mid-term tests and final
exams can only be done at the Faculty.

UNDERGRADUATE STUDIES
Undergraduate studies last three study years. They end when the student passes all the subjects provided by the curriculum and accumulates a total of 180 ECTS credits. All subjects are of one term's dura-

tion and the exams are taken during and at the end of the semester.
The purpose of undergraduate studies is to provide students with the
knowledge necessary to perform jobs in the fields of marketing and
finance. Consequently, the curriculum is designed so that students can
not only acquire the specialist knowledge in marketing and finance, but
also study the social phenomena closely related to these fields (Sociology, EU Law, Business Law, etc.). We put special emphasis on the
study of Business English during all three years of study. The curriculum is made up of compulsory subjects, as well as elective subjects,
which allow students to improve their knowledge in the areas that they
are most interested in. Upon completion of undergraduate studies,
students obtain the Diploma of Bachelor of Financial Management or
Bachelor of Marketing.

The academic Master’s study programme is organized as one-year
study, with the following structure:
• Semester I – attending lectures and taking exams
• Semester II – registration, preparation and defence of the Master’s thesis.
In 2012/2013 we started the International MBA study programme (Master
of Business Administration in Management, Finance and Agribusiness)
in the English language. It is a two-year (four semesters) applied programme of study.
SPECIALIST STUDIES
In the 2013/2014 academic year we are planning to launch the doctoral
study programme - Management and Business. Special attention will
be devoted to the empowerment of students of doctoral studies for the
independent and high quality scientific-research work in the fields of Business Finance, Accounting and Auditing, and Marketing, according to the
needs of modern business and research, as well as to the development
of science and knowledge-based society in Montenegro and beyond.
The Faculty organizes the specialist studies, with two study programmes:

• Marketing Management, field of study – Services Marketing.
In 2012/2013 we introduced two new study programmes: Management
of Protected Areas, with two fields of study - Management of National

At the end of each academic year, the Faculty awards scholarships
to the best 5% of students, exempting them from paying tuition fee

Dear colleagues,
The mission of the Faculty of Information Technology is to contribute to the educational, cultural, economic and social development of Montenegro, providing undergraduate, specialist and master academic studies in the field of Information Technologies, as well as transfer of knowledge onto companies in the region through continual professional education in this field. Through its scientific and
development projects, the Faculty of Information Technology helps the community to strengthen
the development of scientific disciplines and improve appliance of information technologies in the
sense of quality and quantity. The Faculty of Information Technology primarily educates IT professionals
for development of information systems, software systems and computer telecommunications. The
educational process takes place across the curriculum and syllabus which are harmonized with
current world trends, enabling students to find appropriate employment not only in Montenegro, but in
the states of the EU, after they complete the studies.
The Faculty of Information Technology is specific in the teaching methodologies it employs, because it
develops creativity and independence in work, capability for innovative thinking of students. The Faculty
encourages new approaches to problems, capability for integration and implementation of modern
technologies and supports research spirit.

Faculty of Information Technology - FIT
The Faculty of Information Technology (FIT) was founded in 2006.
Our objective is to provide students with high-level education and
professional, immediately applicative knowledge for doing jobs in
the field of Information Technologies. Three-year undergraduate academic studies are completely in compliance with recommendations
and demands of the Bologna declaration. All courses are one semester in length, and knowledge that students acquire are harmonized
with contemporary needs of economy for IT professionals. Thanks
to the partnership with prominent world IT companies, our students
are able to do specialist’s exam in order to gain internationally admitted professional certificates of companies such as Microsoft, Cisco,
Oracle. With respect to the fact that work with the newest information
technologies demands their topmost understanding, we have made
all-out efforts to establish necessary personnel basis which enables
cooperation with prominent world IT companies.
With restrictive entrance policy, organization of lectures, tutorials and
seminars in small groups, in modern equipped classrooms and laboratories, and with professional training during winter and summer vacations, all necessary conditions are provided for students to acquire
professional knowledge.
Introducing Distance Learning System in academic 2007/2008, the
FIT became the first faculty in Montenegro which offered distance
learning. Distance Learning students follow the same syllabus and do
exams as traditional students, and, after completion of studies, they
are awarded the same diploma.
LOCATION AND EQUIPMENT
FIT is situated in the very centre of Podgorica, in modern equipped
premises offering learning through multimedia presentations, as well
as presentations of students’ papers and projects. Students can use
two amphitheatres (120 and 80 seats), four computer labs (altogether
150 seats), a lab for computer communications, wireless internet in all
rooms, room for learning and entertainment, library, and a café.
STUDIES STRUCTURE
A new curriculum and syllabus of the Faculty of Information Technology is
based on the principles of the Bologna Declaration and ECTS which enable competitiveness, better mobility of students and teaching staff, and
facilitates faster, easier and more equal fitting of the professionals who we
educate into common European education and labour market. The FIT
organizes three-year undergraduate academic studies with 180 ECTS
(European Credit Transfer System). The dynamic of studies is defined by
students themselves through the choice of courses they do during a semester, being obliged to obtain minimum 30 ECTS credits, i.e. minimum
60 ECTS credits per year.
During three-year undergraduate studies, one study programme, Information Technology, with three courses, is studied:
• Software engineering
• Information systems
• Computer networks and telecommunications

The first four semesters are common for all students, and in the fifth
semester students choose one of the offered courses by choosing
elective subjects of specific profession. This choice, and particularly
the theme of final work, makes the difference between the courses
significant.
Completing the studies successfully, students acquire academic
title Bachelor of Information Technologies.
SYLLABUS AND CURRICULUM OF UNDERGRADUATE STUDIES
Undergraduate studies at the FIT provide students with acquiring
knowledge necessary for understanding, governing, designing,
programming and managing complex processes of contemporary
information technologies. Computer Networks, Database, Information and Software Systems based on internet technologies and web
services, are studied. Tutorials of certain subjects are harmonized
with programmes of worldwide leading companies (Microsoft, Oracle, Cisco), giving students opportunity to be awarded certificates of
these companies, which are distinguished in the world. Mastering
the curriculum, students acquire general knowledge which enables
them to analyse, model, design and implement information systems
in various business domains; design and maintain databases; plan
and develop business applications; design implement and administer contemporary computer networks; install system and applications software; give support for work on the Internet.
Completing study programme Information Technology, students are
competent to solve real problems in practice and perform a wide
spectrum of jobs in one of the following areas:
• Development and application of contemporary information
technologies in public administration, national services and
financial institutions,
• Design and implementation of information systems,

DISTANCE LEARNING
In 2007, the FIT was the first faculty in Montenegro which introduced
Distance Learning (e-learning) as an educational method. When
preparing for introducing this way of education, the FIT took in
consideration recommendations and experiences of worldwide
leading institutions and organisations which establish certain standards and systems for ensuring quality at practicing distance
learning. Students who decide to study from distance do exams the
same way as traditional students, and, after completing the studies,
they are awarded the same diploma.
Students are able to access distance learning via the internet at any
time (http://www.e-fit.unimediteran.net).
After logging in the system, students may use electronic teaching
materials created in different multimedia forms (animation, graphic,
audio and video material), which adequately provide learning and
testing or some skills. Distance learning system enables synchronous and asynchronous communication, so that a student may
communicate with a teacher or other students at any time.

DYNAMICS OF LEARNING
CISCO SYSTEMS
All courses consist of a certain number of teaching modules whose
accessing to and following is not restricted in time. A student may
access the materials as many times as they want ant they may
choose the time when they will do evaluation tests. Tuitions for online
students are organized at the Faculty every week, in terms acceptable for them.
Cisco Systems Inc. is a worldwide leader in producing equipment
for building internet infrastructure and for networking. Cisco is wellknown for its unique system of education and certification, and it
represents a worldwide leading standard in the area of computer
networks.
FIT has been accredited as a “Regional Cisco Academy” and it
gives its students an opportunity to do Cisco specialist’s courses
during the studies. Highly professional personnel hold lectures at
undergraduate studies following Cisco CCNA programme:
• Introduction to Cisco Networking Technologies (INTRO)
• Interconnecting Cisco Networking Devices (ICND).
EVALUATION OF KNOWLEDGE DURING STUDIES
During studies, DLS students have evaluation of knowledge in every
subject, after completing a certain number of modules. Assessments depend on the type and nature of courses, and they can be
tests, seminar papers or projects. Mid- and final exams are done
traditionally, at the Faculty, in previously specified terms, in the presence of the teacher.

After passing exams, students are allowed to do exams and be
awarded internationally recognized certificates Cisco, Oracle, Microsoft and ECDL.

Oracle is one of the leading IT companies in the world. They pay
particular attention to education of prospective IT professionals and
for that purpose, the company has founded Oracle University. FIT
has been accredited as an ORACLE ACADEMY providing students
with a possibility to acquire necessary knowledge for taking exams
and gaining worldwide recognized certificates.

Microsoft is one of the best known IT companies worldwide. Since
2006, the FIT has been a partner with Microsoft and it has been
accredited as “Microsoft Academy”. Through the realization of
Microsoft Developer Network Academic Alliance (MSDN AA) programme, teaching process and research in the fields of computing
techniques, engineering and information systems have been significantly improved. Cooperation with Microsoft gives our students an
opportunity to be awarded internationally recognized professional
Microsoft certificates which approve advanced and professional
knowledge of Microsoft products and technologies. Certificates are
awarded after passing one (MCP) or more exams. There are more
types of certificates, depending on the specialty:
• For desktop technicians (MCDST),
• For specialists in the field of system software and networking
(MCSA, MCSE),
• For applications development (MCAD, MCSD), or
• For database administration (MCDBA)

A special type of certificates is the one for Microsoft courses instructor (MCT).
ECDL
ECDL represents a system of certification of knowledge in IT, which
has been recognized by over 160 countries worldwide. ECDL (European Computer Driving License) certification is a proof of computer
literacy and qualification. As an accredited international training and
testing centre, authorized by ECDL Foundation, the FIT steadily
works on (general) computer literacy of its attendants, as well as of
all citizens. The curriculum of our education encompasses the latest
version of ECDL Syllabus 5.0. In modern-equipped computer rooms
at the FIT, attendants are trained and tested by qualified ECDL trainers.
WHY STUDY AT THE FIT?
Modern teaching methods
The FIT applies contemporary pedagogic theories in teaching process, meaning affirmation of interactive learning where students
acquire new knowledge by solving problems. Home and foreign lecturers, confirmed as eminent experts in certain fields, are engaged in
teaching. Team work in small groups, at most 80 students at lectures
(without using computers) at undergraduate studies and 25 students
at computer labs where each student has their own computer, is organised. During the studies, the FIT students master the skills of efficient
team work being involved in team-oriented projects which last quite
long, a semester or a significant part of it.

SCHOALRSHIPS
GAINING PRACTICAL SKILLS THROUGH PROFESSIONAL
TRAINING
The FIT awards scholarship to first year students with “Luča” diploma, winners of national competitions in knowledge, as well as to
disabled persons, as suggested by Association of Youth with Disabilities. Scholarships and reduced tuition fees are also awarded
to the second and third year students, on the basis of the results
achieved during their previous study years.
The objective of studies at the FIT is to qualify students to successfully solve problems they may encounter at work. For that reason,
the FIT applies the principle “learning over solving problems from
practice” as much as possible. Our students are provided with professional training at eminent IT companies in Montenegro.

“The hardest two decisions in my life
were when I had to choose the secondary school and then the faculty. The
first decision did not demand much effort since general secondary
school was a perfect solution for a boy who was hesitating between
petrology, physics, astronomy and medicine, but four years later my
dreams had to be more concrete. In the first semester I got a subject
which has changed many things in my life…
By definition, Programming would be just giving instructions to the
processor unit and their execution with the speed higher than a human may produce. Very soon, it turned that the definition in that case
was just an insult for one of the most interesting fields. Programming
represents a possibility for creating new worlds. It is as wide as a
man’s thought which uses programming as a creating tool. A whole
set of applications used today depends on this skill. Facebook,
Google, Twitter… or any program for editing pictures, for games… I
am certain there is an application you do not like, but I am as certain
that there is not at least one which you use every day and enjoy it. At
this Faculty, you can learn how to create efficient systems; to enable
your creativity to move its borders; to design web pages; to manage
databases and networks; to master many technologies which will
facilitate your everyday life.
With its academic personnel and its curriculum, the FIT offers concrete, fast and quality knowledge in this field, presented by people
who are not only good lecturers but motivators, too. The FIT is also

Dear future graduates,
Visual arts have, during the last few decades of the previous century, become one of the most important
factors of cultural, media and economic development both worldwide and in Montenegro. This was the
main reason for the opening of the Faculty of Visual Arts which creates and improves creative environment for studying universal visual languages: the language of graphic and web design, the language of
television and video, as well as the language of photography.
The Faculty of Visual Arts of the University ‘Mediterranean’ in Podgorica has been designed in accordance with the latest standards and the Bologna declaration, thus opening the way for our students to
European colleges. Our faculty has created the environment in which the students deepen, improve
and direct their talent towards a successful career.
Students at the undergraduate, specialist and master's studies can choose between the two study
programmes:
• Design of Visual Communications and
• Audiovisual Production,
Our curricula are based on modern technological and creative achievements in visual arts. They are
accompanied by concrete practical training whose aim is to create for students the sense of confidence
and assurance that upon graduation they will boldly enter professional practice. Students have the
unique opportunity to learn from the experienced teachers who have world-wide reputation.
The Faculty encourages immediate practice thanks to the closeness and the support of Atlas Television, the Montenegrin broadcaster applying the latest technology. Turned to global society, the Faculty
is creating contacts with many European and international academic institutions.

Faculty of Visual Art - FVU
At the Faculty of Visual Arts, students can specialize in one of the following areas:
Design of Visual Communication and
Audiovisual Production.
The first two semesters are common to both study programmes, and in the
fifth and sixth semester students meet again to work on common projects
within Multimedia Studio. After successful completion of undergraduate
studies, students are awarded Bachelor of Design of Visual Communication Degree or the Bachelor of Audiovisual Production degree.
The Faculty’s curriculum is a symbiosis of art, science, technology, computer science and other disciplines. It is aligned with the current needs of the
environment and is adapted to the global trends and demands in industry,
media and other fields.
The Faculty has a well-equipped amphitheatre, a computer room, a photo
and video studio, a graphic and an art studio. Students are given access
to the library providing professional literature, a film library with about a
thousand titles, and, via Internet, the leading electronic libraries, such as
EBSCO.
The affirmation of interactive approach to teaching together with the professional practice and continually organized workshops and projects provide our students with all the necessary conditions for gaining the knowledge expected from the contemporary experts in these fields.
The Faculty of Visual Arts organizes specialist and master studies for two
study programmes: Design of Visual Communication and Audiovisual Production. After the completion of one-year specialist studies, students get
a Specialist degree in Design of Visual Communication or a Specialist de-
gree in Audiovisual Production.
After the completion of master studies, students get a Master’s degree
in Design of Visual Communication or a Master’s degree in Audiovisual
Production.
Admission to Faculty
The candidates who have completed a four-year secondary education are
eligible to apply for admission.
The application must be accompanied by the following documents:
• Secondary school transcripts for all previously completed grades
of secondary school
• Diploma of Completion of the Final Exam
• Birth Certificate
• Diploma "Luča" or its equivalent
Students who are holders of diploma "Luca" are exempt from tuition fees
for the first year of studies, and the most successful students receive
annual University scholarships.
ENTRANCE EXAM
The entrance exam is taken by all candidates. The entrance examination
includes assessment of knowledge, skills and aptitudes for visual arts or
production and consists of a general knowledge test, a practical test and
an interview. The exam takes place before the three-member examination
board of the Faculty.

EXPECTED QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates are expected to demonstrate the quality which includes their
creativity and their ability to express themselves visually and conceptually
in a dynamic and convincing way. They are expected to show the capacity for analytical thinking and original and intelligent problem solving. We
appreciate enthusiasm, innovative spirit and confidence as well as selfcriticism.
It is very important for candidates to show good communication skills
PRESENTATION FOLDER
Presentation folder is a selection of creative works whose purpose is to
demonstrate candidates’ abilities to visually express their sensibilities,
originality and creativity. The folder includes a collection of original works:
drawings, illustrations and graphic works in the techniques of their free
choice (from classical to electronic), photos, videos and the like. By
inspecting the presentation folders the appointed examination board gets
a better insight into the talent and aptitude of the candidates who sit for the
entrance exam.

INTERVIEW
The examination board interviews the candidates with the aim of getting
more information about the candidates’ personalities. The questions are
directed towards discovering their visual perception, checking their level
of cultural knowledge and the like. This helps them get a general picture of
how the applicants know the world of culture and art and what their intellectual and communication skills are.
Upon completion of the interview, the board evaluates the candidates. The
final ranking of the candidates is formed on the basis of the evaluation.
The Faculty organizes two-semester postgraduate studies for the following
study programmes:
• Design of Visual Communications
• Audiovisual Production
GENERAL KNOWLEDGE TEST
General knowledge test consists of questions from different fields, from art
and culture to contemporary media technologies and concepts related to
them. In order to sit for the next section of the entrance exam the candidate
must give correct answers to at least 50% of the questions in the test. An
integral part of the general knowledge test is a test of the English language,
which is not an elimination test.
PRACTICAL / ORAL TEST
Practical / oral test is the most important part of the entrance examination.
It consists of a topic, given by the examination board, which the candi-

Dear prospective students,
In life, composed of numerous dilemmas and challenges, each individual makes important decisions.
One of those being the choice of the faculty where he would acquire the knowledge necessary for
future work. Therefore, everyone has the freedom of choice, and that, inherently entails responsibility
for choices made. Hence, this choice must be well thought out. When you realize that you will see that
there are many reasons to enroll our Faculty of Law. We were founded in 2007 as the first privatelyowned faculty of law in the country. The mission of our faculty is educational and cultural. Our goal is
to contribute to raising the quality of the research of legal doctrine, profiling staff of special expertise
and specialization. The time in which we are living is characterized by rapid development and different
types of crime, corruption, trafficking, terrorism and other illegal occurrences. Therefore, the institutions
should have the quality staff who are ready to face the problems and thus contribute to the achievement
of the rule of law.

Faculty of Law - PF
The Faculty of Law, University "Mediterranean" Podgorica was
founded in 2007 when 110 students enrolled. Now, there are about
400 graduate students. During the 2008/2009 academic year, in
addition to basic academic programs, the faculty got the license and
accreditation for two postgraduate programs (commercial law and
judicial
criminal law postgraduate program) and 45 postgraduate students
enrolled. Since 2007, the faculty has been continuously organizing
seminars for the preparation for the bar exam, at which prominent
experts from practice (judges, lawyers, prosecutors) and eminent
law professors guide and prepare graduates for the bar exam
(around 400 participants in the seminars, in twelve cycles). The Faculty
was reaccredited in 2009 confirming the quality of academic programs and co-ordination and organization of the Faculty with the
requirements of the regulations on the work of higher academic
institutions. During the 2009/2010 academic year the faculty got a
license and accreditation for the legal-political postgraduate study
program. In October 2010 the faculty received a license for scientific research from the Ministry of Education and Science and is the
only law school in Montenegro with this license. Since the 2010/2011
academic year undergraduate studies have been conducted in Bar
where 80 students enrolled.
MISSION AND GOALS
During the establishment of the Faculty, it was decided that all the
attention and activities be directed toward training students for responsible and professional work in the profession. The goal is that
graduates are professionals in the business, people with high moral
values and responsibility in the performance of legal profession. The
motivation for the work the faculty sees in the fact that students will
be respected, professional and quality young legal experts in future,
which will significantly contribute to the overall development of society. Our faculty is not a faculty where all enrolled students get a
degree. This is the faculty, where we must be responsible and work
hard to get a degree.
The goal of the existence and work of the Faculty is the quality!

Advantages of studying legal doctrine are numerous: Gaining comprehensive knowledge and general culture, the possibility to perform

Basic studies last three years. They end when a student has passed all
subjects provided within the curriculum and has collected 180 ECTS
credits. The aim of basic studies is to provide students with all the
knowledge that they will need to perform the legal profession. Consequently, the curriculum has been made so that students learn theoretical-legal as well as specific-legal science, but also, and non-legal
sciences especially those that study the social phenomena which the
law is closely linked to (sociology, economics, etc.). Also, the students
learn those subjects that a legal expert needs- primarily foreign languages. Special attention is focused on developing oratory, critical thinking, discussion, and application of the law. Curriculum, in addition
to obligatory, consists of the electives that allow the student to further
studies in those areas in which he may show the greatest interest.
FORMS OF TEACHING ON BASIC STUDIES
Classes are taught through lectures, seminars and consultations. In
addition, students are referred to the practice in the courts, government authorities, law firms and companies within certain subjects.
The Faculty has a common practice to have guests lecturing in
some classes - teachers, mostly practitioners and people in the profession, so as to make students more familiar to the teaching material. The Faculty regularly organizes rhetorical section and simulation
trials, and students participate in competitions where they can demonstrate their acquired skills.

Already in the first year lecturers familiarize students with the necessary literature and train them properly to write term papers, thereby
encouraging them to read important papers in the field of law. Also,
active participation in classes is encouraged, and that is separately recorded and counts into the final grade. Total number of ECTS
credits that a student needs to collect on the basic studies is 180. It
is distributed to the six semesters, each semester consists of subjects
whose sum is 30 credits.
The Faculty also organizes the specialist studies which last one year.
ORATORY
In order to improve students' oratorical skills, which is crucial to the
profession of a lawyer in modern society, we organize rhetorical
section. The right to attend the rhetorical section have students of all
years of study. Each year, the Faculty also organizes oratory competition. Three best students are awarded the right to participate in a
competition of law schools in Montenegro.
MASTER STUDIES
SCHOLARSHIPS AND AWARDS
At the end of each school year the college gives scholarship to 5%
top students by freeing them from the obligation to pay tuition for the
coming school year. Every year, the Atlas Foundation under traditional competition honors the best student of the Law Faculty of the
University "Mediterranean".

Modern business practice is not possible without good knowledge of
foreign languages.The Faculty of Foreign languages in Podgorica is
a young, but an affirmed university unit.
The Faculty of Foreign languages will provide students with quality
studying of foreign languages by acquiring practical and theoretical
knowledge in the field of Business English language through contemporary glottodidactics which emphasizes mastering a language
through authentic audio-visual, audio and textual materials, as well
as live communication in target languages. The study programmes
are characterized by an extensive offer of elective subjects from almost
all spheres of economy and business (Basics of Tourism, Public
Relations,Basics of International Marketing, etc.).

STUDY PROGRAMMES
The Faculty of Foreign languages will provide students with methods for studying business English language in a quality way.
Along with this contemporary study programme, additional elective
subjects within the scope of tourism, law, economics, public relations, commerce, international marketing, etc. are included. There
are also accredited specialist studies in Business English, English
language and literature of the educational study programme.
The Faculty is accredited by the Coucil for Higher education of Montenegro, and was licensed by The Ministry of Education and Sci-

of Foreign languages website. The students who have finished
secondary schools are entitled to enroll at the Faculty. The ranking list of the candidates is established on a competitive basis, in
accordance with the results obtained during secondary education.
Candidates submit documents for examination and the enrolment
application form, after the announcement of the Open Application
Advertisement in a daily newspaper. A student concludes a learning
contract with the Faculty which defines more precisely their mutual
rights and obligations.
