Students undertake a challenging course of study in the fields of economics, history, languages law, political science and sociology. Lecture courses, seminars and discussion groups provide students with a broadbased cultural background as well as the tools for analysis and understanding of key contemporary issues in France and in the world. Semester 1 Introduction Period 11 SEPTEMBER 2014 - 19 SEPTEMBER 2014 Semester 1 22 september 2014 - 20 décember 2014 EXAM DATES 05january 2015 -17 january 2015 Science Po Strasbourg has an enrollment of about 1500 students, with approximately 400 international students from all over the world. November 17 for the second semester A = 3% EXCELLENT outstanding performance with only minor errors French Language Course We offer the induction one week French language class to exchange students. There is no year-long class. C = 35% GOOD generally sound work with a number of notable errors Orientation The induction period serves as an orientation period. Two formal orientation meetings are held. One on Sept 11 serves administrative purposes. A second one on Sept 19 serves pedagogical purposes Internships Each year several students find internships as parliamentary assistants to MEPs in Strasbourg. Residence permit If you are from a European Economic Area country, Switzerland, Andorra or Monaco, you are exempt from the residence permit obligation (Bulgarian and Romanian nationals need a residence permit to work). If you are from another State, you must go to the student Agora (from September to November) to apply for a residence permit as soon as you arrive in Strasbourg (approximately €55). In certain cases, students with a one-year visa don’t need residence permit and must go to the OFII. Incoming students must have health insurance from their home University valid until 1st October (for the 1st semester), until 1st February (for the 2nd semester). They are apportioned on a first come first served basis.
