This event offers an opportunity for you to observe, learn, network and hear different perspectives from a diverse mix of female executives who have made the climb up the corporate ladder. The theme for today’s symposium is Secure Your Place at the Table. Despite advances over the past several years, women continue to be underrepresented in the C-Suite and executive leadership teams of businesses across the nation. By bringing together successful women leaders, we hope to educate, their organizations. Listening to the success stories of today’s panelists is only one part of the symposium. In the business world, both networking and professional development are key when seeking career advancement. Previously, Eleanor enjoyed a 21 year career at Progressive Medical (Westerville), retiring as Executive Vice President of Operations in 2014. In 2013, she graduated from Otterbein University with a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in Leadership Studies with an Organizational Communication minor. Beyond emerging leader development, Eleanor’s strengths include heart-based leadership, building trust and collaboration in diverse environments and leading organizational change. Eleanor is a member of the Ohio Diversity Council Board of Directors and its Editorial Board. She serves her alma mater on the Leadership Curriculum Advisory Committee. In Lauren’s current role, she is responsible for the design, implementation and governance of IT Run processes across the Enterprise. Within corporate success in partnering with executive leadership to develop innovative, sustainable solutions to achieving corporate objectives. Lauren’s career has been distinguished by the ability to identify operational improvements and technology solutions that will directly achieve corporate goals and she has often led the execution and change management efforts to ensure the success of these strategies. Lyttle joined Worthington Industries in January of 1999 as Vice President of Corporate Communications. She is responsible for internal and external communications, corporate philanthropy through the Worthington Industries Foundation, government relations, and marketing for the company. communications department for Worthington, she was Vice President of Jackets, the National Hockey League expansion franchise, and worked with the project team on the development of Nationwide Arena from 1997 to 1999. Prior to her JMAC position, Lyttle was Vice President of Marketing for the Greater Columbus Chamber of Commerce from 1987-1997. Lyttle also worked with member companies to help market the area and on a number of economic development initiatives. Earlier in her career, she worked in both print and broadcasting, including WTVN-Radio, Columbus, before becoming the assignment editor for WBNSTV, Columbus. She is Chair of Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation and Columbus Youth Foundation, Trustee of member of the Columbus Chamber board of directors, Columbus Baseball Team, Inc./Franklin County Stadium, Inc., Columbus Clippers, Peggy R. McConnell Arts Center of Worthington. She served on the Greater Columbus Infant Mortality Task Force, co-chaired Women of the Academy Capital Campaign for the YWCA, serves on the Ohio Dangerous & Restricted Animals Advisory Board and the OSU Don Scott Airport Community Outreach Council. She has also served in leadership roles on the boards of Franklin Park Conservatory, Leadership Columbus, Columbus State Foundation and LifeCare Alliance. Lyttle is a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University and in 2008, she was named a Woman of Achievement by the YWCA - Columbus. She was inducted into the Leadership Columbus Hall of Fame as an inaugural member in 2004. During her tenure at Cummins, DeeAnne was responsible for Human Resources for the Global Power Generation business segment, and all Cummins operations in 2 regions – Central American and the Middle East – comprised of multiple manufacturing facilities, sales, engineering technical centers and general management/support. She was also responsible for Marketing & Sales capability development across Cummins. Prior to Cummins, DeeAnne held leadership roles of increasing responsibility in various industries Lorraine Washington Senior Vice President, Human Resources Summa Health Lorraine Washington currently serves as the Senior Vice President of Human Resources for Summa Health. In this role she leads human resources, organizational development, and volunteer services. She was recently named National Diversity Council. Prior to joining Summa Health, Lorraine served as the Vice President of Human Resources for St. Dominic Hospital and Mercy Medical Center. Lorraine worked in operations and human resources for Cox Communications and McDonald’s Corporation in Boston, MA and Cleveland, OH. Lorraine is a former Army Reservist and holds both a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master’s in Organizational Management. Her practice focuses on counseling clients on the formation, registration, and ongoing operation of registered investment companies and investment advisers. With 20 years of experience in the investment management practice area, JoAnn counsels fund sponsors and fund boards, including their independent directors, on a wide range of issues, including product development decisions, mergers and reorganizations, SEC examinations, and compliance issues. JoAnn works extensively in the alternative fund area, including managed futures funds with off-shore subsidiaries, closed-end interval funds, fund-of-fund and master feeder structures, and long-short and absolute return funds, and assists clients to obtain the exemptive orders necessary for those products. JoAnn currently serves on the WELD board and also serves on the United Way of Central Ohio Women’s Leadership Council. Kimberly Zavislak Partner KPMG Kim has provided audit services to several mutual fund clients and their advisors. Other services have included: conducting training to both fund advisors and their boards of directors, assisted clients with questions related to valuation, master-feeder fund structures, multi-class structures, derivatives, reorganizations, common trust conversions and fund accounting/transfer agent conversions. She specializes in career and executive coaching, wellness and human resources management programs. She is a frequent speaker in Human Resources and Diversity Conferences globally. She has worked for the public and private sector as Human Resource executive and is the Senior Director of Human Resources and responsible for Diversity for The Ohio Children’s Hunger Alliance. Dr. Joy Kouns-Lewis currently chaired the Ohio Asian Awards and currently is the Vice President and a board member of the Asian American Commerce Group. Her previous HR work was with the American Red Cross, The Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission, and was an HR Manager for the Nationwide Insurance in Columbus, Ohio. Dr. Joy Kouns-Lewis earned her doctorate degree in Organization and Management with a specialization in Human Resources Management from Capella University. She has a lifetime Human Resources Association of Central Ohio, Chairperson of Career Fair for the Asian Festival, and Board Member of the Ballantrae Association in Dublin, Ohio.
