I am currently getting speakers lined up for next year so if any member has any ideas please feel free to contact me with your suggestion. Tea Table and Pedestal Arrangements Thank you Theresa Chick (Tea Table) and Carolyn Basler (Pedestal) for your beautiful designs at the April general meeting. Our May designers are Sylvia Marks-Newman (Tea Table) and Bonnie Newman (Pedestal). A pedestal designer is still needed for Nov. 1, 2015 meeting. Please contact Dorinda Bagwell to sign up for the one remaining opening. Mary Kaub 1st Vice President Hello from the Dirt Gardeners Drum roll please….The new plant sale total is $1600 which makes the Dirt Gardeners very happy and grateful to all who helped make it possible. Plants left from the sale have been stored in the nursery where they will be tended until the Holiday House Plant Sale in November. We’ve been pruning and tidying up all the gardens as we get ready to spread chips and mulch to maintain as much moisture as possible through the summer and to cut down on extensive weeding. Besides general upkeep, the areca garden behind the clubhouse has been redesigned by removing “wrong plants” and replacing them with additional irises to create a better visual flow. Also of note is the decorative cement container on the south end of the front yard. A large red bougainvillea has been planted in it, giving the area a beautiful shot of color. Everyone is welcome to come on Mondays and Fridays to lend a hand, ask questions, or just sit in the shade. --Carol Rice 2 Join Us! Students brought in planters made out of Legos, plastic containers, and jars. The Garden Club following the yard sale donated many of the items such as shoes, colander, and other items. Plants were also purchased at the yard sale. Students had a great time. Their second meeting was celebrating Teacher Appreciation. Members learned flower arrangement making something for all the teachers and staff. After making the flower arrangements they delivered them all the staff. The teachers loved it.
