Case #2 • 11 YO MN, Labradoodle • Presented for acute respiratory distress and dyspnea • Three view thorax and thoracic CT RT LT RT LT RT LT RT LT Discussion and DDx • Thx Rads and CT findings • • • • • Left pneumothorax Soft tissue, non-enhancing mass, caudo-dorsal thorax, just to left of midline. The mass contains some air, and is closely associated with the esophagus and aorta The 11th rib head looks expansile and lytic, and there is irregular mineralization adjacent to the vertebral body, extending into mass Differentials: • • • Pleural effusion and atelectasis Spirocerca lupi with esophageal granuloma/osteosarcoma and involvement of rib and vertebral body Esophageal perforation with granuloma formation/abscess Could do endoscopic exam and biopsy. Could also do fecal float and check for larva Histological Diagnosis: Pleural/ subpleural hemangiosarcoma
