Available for Restoration 201 E. Main Street Price: $8,900 Square Feet: 4,000 +/Lot Size: 0.05 acres Zoning: General Business Potential Live/Work Space in Downtown Fremont! 201 E. Main Street, Fremont Wayne County This simple commercial building was built probably in the early to mid twentieth century. Its embellishments, like the plain stone lintels and sills of the windows, gabled roof parapet, and heavy molded tin string course which terminates on the end with a bracket of classical motif (note the dentil moldings under the floral motif) are reminiscent of the Colonial Revival-style. The corbelled brickwork forms one large panel with a double front with each side retaining some portion of its original appearance. It retains the tin string course serving as a cornice to the first story with a hint of engaged pilasters toward the top. It is simple yet nicely appointed. The interior of the building, specifically the second floor, has suffered significant damage from a partial roof collapse and subsequent water infiltration. Although the interior needs to be completely rehabilitated with all new systems installed, the exterior walls and façade require mostly cosmetic updates and removal of the brick to reveal the original store front. Some adaptive reuse ideas include: first floor wine shop, florist, hair salon/spa with second floor living or office space.
