The manual pad within feature H (now feature I) has intentionally been set lower to be more accessible for skateboarders. comment / request It was requested that the transition radius on feature A not be “too mellow” and that additional standing space could be provided up top. design response The profile curve radius has been set at 6’-6” (feature is 3’-6” high) and some additional standing space has been provided up top. comment / request It was requested that the design dimensions on feature C be well-proportioned with the height and angle of the bank and not be “too easy”. design response The design dimensions reflect the ‘up-gap’ at the Father David Bauer Drive Park in Waterloo, as was requested. comment / request It was requested that feature F have a small lip of concrete provided on top and that the ledge portion be high enough for BMX pegs. design response The feature (formerly F, now G) provides a small lip of concrete on top. The ledge portion is just high enough for BMX pegs. comment / request Some workshop attendees were concerned that feature G (now feature H) appeared “too easy” and there might not be enough space between feature G (now feature H) and feature H (now feature I). design response The horizontal gap on feature G is 3 feet. The length of feature H has been shortened to provide more space between features G and H. 9 FEEDBACK COMMENTS & DESIGN RESPONSE comment / request The BMX user group requested all grindable ledges on feature H (now feature I) be set minimum 14” so that BMX pegs can grind also. design response The two “out-ledges” on feature H (now feature I) are set high enough for BMX pegs to grind. The manual pad has intentionally been left lower so as to be more accessible for skateboarders. comment / request Feature I (now feature J) was well received. design response The design revision retains this feature. comment / request The BMX user group requested the Flat Rail feature J (now feature K) be set minimum 14” high so that BMX pegs can grind also. design response The Flat Rail feature is just high enough for BMX pegs. comment / request It was requested that feature K (now feature L) have a small lip of concrete provided up top to facilitate taps and stalls. design response This has been provided. comment / request Bowl enthusiasts appreciated the deeper bowl provided in the January 8th draft concept drawing. Preference was expressed for a layout more similar to Australia’s “Bondi Bowl” as opposed to the “skull bowl” configuration provided. It was also requested that the stairs be omitted from the shallow end. design response this feedback. The bowl feature design has been modified based on 10 FINAL CONCEPT MODEL February 4th, 2015 Fischer Park Skatepark Final Concept Model - Site Plan and Context Context Plan Existing Site Site Plan nts Scale: EXISTING BERM WITH SEATING/VIEWING AREA E S EN QU VD BL .
