grandeur of Mt. Washington. In 1923, Wallace Nutting,
author of “New Hampshire Beautiful” put it well when
he said “People of Jackson can claim as their advantage
to be in the immediate view of the best of the White
Mountains. Jackson undoubtedly stands high among the
more desirable mountain towns as a goal of visitation.”
This holds true today. Works of art from local and visiting
artists who convey their vision of this spectacular area on
canvas continue to be popular purchases. This event can
be enjoyed by singles, couples and the entire family... with
something special for each.

Shaving Versus Waxing
150 Beech St.
Manchester, NH
603.486.8189
SHAVING:
With shaving, the hair is cut at the skin line, leaving behind the bulb. Hair grows back very
quickly due to the stimulation of lifting the hair bulb. Increasing oils and blood circulation
better nourishes the hair, which encourages it to grow faster. Shaved hair is always cut at a
slant, making the hair sharp and uncomfortable. Shaved hair always grows back in coarse,
sharp stubble within 24-hours.
WAXING:
One of the most delightful advantages of waxing is that your hair will grow back finer and
slower. This is because the hair bulb is removed from below the skin's surface. Each time
a new bulb grows back at the base of your hair, it will be weaker, and at times the hair is
actually discouraged from growing back. Waxed hair takes two weeks for the bulb to grow
back in the follicle, and one to two weeks for the hair to grow above the skin line, leaving
you hair-free for three to four weeks! When waxing leaves your skin silky, smooth, and
hairless for longer, the question is why not wax?

Don’t just take our word for it, here’s
what recognized travel experts have
to say about compelling reasons to
consult a travel professional:
“Why do I still like agents? A competent travel adviser
can be your greatest asset when you’re planning a
trip. Good travel agents have an edge over almost any
other seller of travel. They know what you want. They
speak your language. And they’re there for you when
you run into trouble.”
Christopher Elliot, ombudsman,
National Geographic Traveler magazine
“It’s clear agents can likely save travelers big money
and help set a realistic itinerary. Even where they
weren’t cheaper, the agents competed with what we
could find on our own. And we were impressed where
they did save us money, in particular with hotels.”
Jane Hodges, Wall Street Journal
“Having a travel agent advise you is now more important than ever,” as fees, surcharges, and other travel
restrictions have become more confusing for consumers. “Travel is one of the most complicated purchases.”

to Furniture World
Barn Star Productions and Frank Gaglio are pleased

comes to making our show stand out and every year they
do just that.
Expect the unexpected and embrace the thrill of decorating with a new twist at The Manchester Pickers Market.

The Language of Baskets
Abenaki speaker Eli Joubert has said, “within our
language lie the secrets of our culture.” This talk, on Aug.
13 at 7p.m., will focus on Abenaki words used in the making of baskets. Abenaki master basket maker Sherry Gould
will discuss the literal meanings of these Abenaki words, as
well as words “borrowed” from other languages and what
they tell us about Abenaki world view. Gould is the Director
of the Wijokadoak Immersion Basket Camp which teaches
basket making using the Abenaki language. Hopkinton
