Private/Foreign Direct Investment
Banking & Financial Systems
Industrial Capacity Revitalization
Approximately $1 billion in foreign and private investment
facilitated by TFBSO since 2008.
Automated more than 200 private bank branches with EFT
capability since 2007. Fielded MasterCard credit and debit
card services in September 2008.
Restarting / restoring production to Iraqi industrial base.
More than 65 factories restarted/restored production in 35
state-owned enterprises (SOE’s). Seven SOE’s began jointventures with international companies in 2008; more pending.
Corporate Development
Multiple multinational corporations, including Daimler Benz,
Boeing, GE, Caterpillar, Case New Holland and Cummins,
established Iraqi operations starting in 2008.
Iraqi Private Sector Development
More than $4 billion in contracts awarded to over 5,000 Iraqi
firms through the Iraqi First Program since 2007.
Signature procurements include Boeing aircraft and GE turbines.
Direct assistance to more than $9 billion in contract awards since
2008. Transparency assurance & process execution assistance.

Agricultural Revitalization
Communications Infrastructure
Helps Iraqi famers adopt modern farming methods and technologies,
enabling Iraq to resume its role as the “breadbasket” of the Middle East.
Working to accelerate the build out of Iraq’s fiber optic
infrastructure and telecommunications network.
