Statewide Honors
for MHS Students
PHMS Energy Savings Project
MHS students Emily Novicki (left)
and Madison Peterman have been
honored by Best Buddies of Indiana as
the state’s Buddy Pair of the Year.
Best Buddies provides opportunities
for students with and without
disabilities to create meaningful
friendships. MHS and PHMS each
have a Best Buddies club.
Those who’ve driven by
Paul Hadley Middle School
lately have seen a variety of
work being done on siding,
windows and the roof. The
51-year-old bulding is getting
an energy makeover which
will replace single-pane
windows, cover crumbling
brick, improve drainage and
add insulation.
The completed building
facade (above) will be similar
to the MHS facade next door.
Renovations are scheduled to
be completed this fall.

Celebrating Arbor Day
Students at Northwood and North Madison got a special
treat on Tuesday as Tim Womick, the “modern-day Johnny
Appleseed,” visited their schools. As part of their Arbor Day
presentations, the students learned about the importance of
trees, the impact they have (including taking in carbon dioxide, which each human produces 2.3 tons of annually), and
each student even received a tulip poplar sapling to plant.
