Priests, deacons, seminarians are encouraged to attend. Conferences will also be open to religious brothers and sisters as well as the laity from all over the world. The conferences will be given in the Hotel de Fatima. Conferences will explain the rubrics of the Traditional Latin Mass, the spirituality and history of this ancient form of the Roman Rite, a treasury of grace, which Pope Benedict XVI has restored to the entire Church. Additionally, we will explain the symbolism of the ceremonies of the Mass and the hermeneutic of continuity. A special feature of the conference will be an introduction to the ancient form of the Latin Rite Mass known as the Rite of Braga Portugal by Fr. Joseph Santos. Lectures will be given in English and Portuguese; translators will be provided at the conference. If you are interested to attend this conference from Wednesday evening, September 8 through mid-day on Saturday, September 11 in Fatima, please email Fr. Scott Haynes at sanctamissa@sanctamissa.org . Daily Mass will be offered according to the 1962 Missale Romanum during the Liturgical Conference. Masses will be offered in Fatima at the Opus Angelorum Chapel on September 8th. On September 9th we will celebrate Mass in the ancient form of the Latin Rite called the Rite of Braga with Fr. Joseph Santos. On September 10th, the Missa Solemnis will be offered at the High Altar of the Basilica of Fatima. The final Solemn High Mass on September 11th will be offered at the Opus Angelorum Chapel. ON THE SOLEMNITY OF THE MOST PRECIOUS BODY & BLOOD OF CHRIST: FOOD FOR THOUGHT ON THE RECEPTION OF COMMUNION Pope Benedict XVI stated on May 22, 2008: ―Kneeling in adoration before the Eucharist is the most valid and radical remedy against the idolatries of yesterday and today.‖ Cardinal Cañizares Llovera, the prefect for the Congregation for Divine Worship and Discipline of the Sacrament in Rome, said on July 22, 2009: ―It is the mission of the Congregation for Divine Worship and Sacraments to work to promote Pope Benedict’s emphasis on the traditional practices of liturgy, such as reception of Communion on the tongue while kneeling.‖ NEW MEN’S GREGORIAN CHANT SCHOLA—FIRST PRACTICE The New all men’s Gregorian Chant Schola at St. Peter’s will have its first practice at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 8 the church choir loft. During Father Koliński’s absence June 7-16 Father Rice will conduct the ongoing affairs of the parish. If you have any questions or pressing needs, please contact him. THE WOMEN’S CENTER We celebrate Father’s Day during June. Many fathers feel a deep loss and sadness due to the abortion of their child. At The Women’s Center, we reduce the number of abortions by saving approximately 1,000 babies each year. We are able to do this because of the counseling, spiritual, and material help which you enable us to provide our families. Volunteers are needed: 1) to answer calls in our Chicago and Evergreen Park counseling offices. For information call 773-794-1313, 2) someone with a truck who is willing to transport baby items to Our Lady of Knock in Calumet City. Call Peg at 773-794-3292, 3) a volunteer to promote our newsletter to schools and individuals. The newsletter, for young people, features stories about saints, God’s love for us, pro-life ideas, plus fun things. To help call Pat at 773-794-4777, and 4) volunteers to pick up baby furniture. Call 773-794-1313. Diapers in sizes 4, 5, and 6 only are needed. Call 773-794-3292 for diaper donation. We need boy’s and girl’s summer clothes in sizes 3-16, infant sleepers, crib sheets and bumper pads. We also need 5 baby cribs, odd crib parts for repairs, 7 infant/carrier car seats, 3 toddler beds, 2 bouncers, 2 small chests of drawers, 2 changing tables, 3 Pack N Plays and 5 baby swings. It will be a great help if you can deliver these to us. For our address, or if a pick up is needed, please call 773-794-1313. All clothing needs to be dropped off unless accompanied by baby furniture. The families who receive these items are grateful for your generosity. If you shop at Dominick’s Food Stores and register your Fresh Values card with The Women's Center, we earn a percentage of what you spend. You can shop any day and at any time of day. Please call us at 773-794-1313 to register your card.
