Joined Port Fiesta and Intraport Opening Ceremonies
By Benjamin Español, Jr.
The Port Christian Community fiesta was held last July 01, 2011 in honor of our Patron “Most Sacred Heart of Jesus”.
To make the affair momentous one it was held together with the Opening of the Intraport Sportfest. The Sportfest is
an annual sports activity aimed to foster camaraderie and unity in all government agencies and private companies
in the Port of General Santos.
The activities started early at 6:00 am with a parade inside the port from the PPA grounds to the office of Philippine
Coast Guard for the Opening Ceremonies. It was followed by a fiesta mass at around 9:30 am officiated by Rev.
Father Rogie V. Castellano, C.P. the parish priest of Holy Cross. Then the usual “salu-salo” followed after the holy mass
celebration.
The Foreign Shipping Lines hosted this year’s Intraport Sportsfest.
