graduate was like watching
marathon runners triumphantly cross the finish
line. We are proud to have
helped 46% of those graduates stay the course and
win that race. Nearly half
of Fitzgerald High School’s
2015 graduates received
focused services from CIS
for at least one year during
their academic career. We
even helped grow 2 of this

We do this because we
know that every FHS graduate will contribute an average of 44 years in their
life to our local economy.
Their higher incomes will
buy homes, invest in business, and pay taxes that
support police, fire fighters,
and teachers.
We are vital to their success, and their success is
vital to the community. We
hope you will continue to
support us as we support
them in the upcoming
school year and beyond.

2015
The month of June was all about our Catalyst Summer Camp, a youth
development program offered 3 days a week for 25 local middle school
students. Sessions were held at the local campus of Wiregrass Ga Tech
and focused on activities that promoted personal discovery, asset development, and social responsibility.
Students were visited by community volunteers who spoke on topics
ranging from health and well being, to history, music, and international
culture.
We learned, we laughed,
we got to know each
other better. We knew
we had done a good job
motivating and mentoring these kids when
they all asked if they
could do it again next
year. One camper said,
“I’m actually sad when I
wake up and it’s not a
camp day.”
From adversity to advocating, Catalyst campers learn about themselves & the world
Some of the best memories made during camp were from our field trips.
We visited the Andersonville National Historic Site and the POW Museum. We also toured habitat for Humanity’s Global Village in Americus, Ga and learned about living conditions throughout the world. In a
second trip we met the rescued animals at Noah’s Ark of Locust Grove,
Ga. Finally, after an unexpected detour due to tour bus problems, we
bowled the afternoon away in Macon, Ga.
