The Wolverines earned a first-round bye and will take on the winner of the UMKC/UTRGV match on Friday, Nov. 6 at 4 p.m. PT/5 p.m. MT. "Tournament time is always exciting," said Utah Valley head coach Brent Anderson. "The girls are relaxed and prepared to go and compete for a chance to represent the WAC in the NCAA Tournament. I think that even though we are on the road, we are familiar with Bakersfield and play well on the pitch there. We are healthy for the most part and I think the team is very motivated." Utah Valley (12-6-1, 7-2-1) closed out regular season play on Saturday with a 1-0 loss at Seattle U. The Wolverines wrap up WAC play in a tie with UMKC for second place--the highest WAC finish for UVU since joining the league in 2013. ABOUT UVU’S ATHLETICS NCAA HISTORY Until 2003, Utah Valley University competed as a NJCAA athletic program. The 2003-04 season was the school’s first competing at an NCAA Division I level. In the summer of 2009, UVU’S provisional status was lifted and the program became a full member of NCAA Division I on July 8, 2009. Until then, UVU teams and individuals were not eligible to compete in NCAA championship events. The Wolverines spent six seasons as an independent before the Great West Conference became an all-sports league in 2008 and began its first full season in 2009. UVU also became a university in 2008, changing its name from Utah Valley State College (UVSC) to Utah Valley University (UVU). 4 UTAH VALLEY UNIVERSITY WOMEN'S SOCCER 2015 WAC STANDINGS Brent Anderson Head Coach | 10th Season Utah State, 2004 Career Record 98-92-11 Career Highlights • Four-time Great West Conference Coach of the Year • 42 All-Conference honorees • 2x All-WAC Defensive Player of the Year (Lauren Sack, '13 | Lexi Robison, '14) • WAC Pct Pts Overall Pct Home Away Seattle U 8-0-2 0.900 26 13-2-3 0.806 7-1-0 4-1-3 Neutral Streak 2-0-0 Utah Valley 7-2-1 0.750 22 12-6-1 0.658 9-0-1 3-6-0 0-0-0 L1 Missouri-Kansas City 7-2-1 0.750 22 13-5-1 0.711 7-2-1 6-3-0 0-0-0 W5 Grand Canyon 4-4-2 0.500 14 7-9-3 0.447 6-2-2 1-5-1 0-2-0 T1 NM State 4-6-0 0.400 12 5-14-0 0.263 4-6-0 1-8-0 0-0-0 L2 CSU Bakersfield 3-5-2 0.400 11 5-11-3 0.342 2-5-1 3-6-2 0-0-0 T1 UT Rio Grande Valley 3-7-0 0.300 9 5-11-3 0.342 4-5-2 1-6-1 0-0-0 W2 Chicago State 0-10-0 0.000 0 0-19-0 0.000 0-10-0 0-9-0 0-0-0 L28 GWC Defensive Player of the Year (Lauren Sack, '12) • 2012 GWC Champions • 2012 GWC Tournament Champions • 2011 GWC Champions • 2011 GWC Tournament Champions • 2009 & 2010 GWC West Div.
