PREFACE.
Thi,s Brand Book is compiled from the Records in
the Brand Recorder's Office, at Regina.
While the
greatest possible care has been taken to ensure accuracy,
it is qui.te, possible, where 00 many thousand brands are
involved, that mistakes have occurred.
Where such
are found, the Recorder will be glad to have them
pointed out for correction.
Horse brands are arranged separately from cattle
brands.
The general scheme of arrangement followed
is 'alphabetical 'and numerical.
In every case the first
letter or numeral character of a brand determines the
place of that brand in the book, thus, a brand of which
the first letter or numeral character is the letter "B"
will be found under that letter, while 'a brand of which
the first letter or numeral character is the numeral "5,"
will be found under that numeral.
For instance, a
brand i.e., -B 5 would be found under the letter "B,"
and among the three character brands, while a brand
i.e., -5 B would be found under the numeral "5."
Single character brands precede two character brands
in arrangement
and two character brands precede
,three character..
Brands of arbitrary design, that
Cannot be otherwise classified, will be found at the
back of the cattle and horse sections, respectively.
