New Look To Your Newsletter
I hope you enjoy the new look to the newsletter. I wanted to make the changes so you wouldn’t get bored
with our setup. Please note all announcements are now located on the back of the newsletter by the address.
This will allow for more information and possible less paper used in the printing. We would sure like to
hear from you if you have any ideas to help us improve the newsletter. One suggestion I received was to
have a column for comments to help improve our clubs. This way you could make a suggestion and it
would get to all of the members not just the ones who attend our meetings. So if you have any ideas please
email them to us at fematreelover@yahoo.com.
Early Lake Lions Visit Lakeshore
Gary Rose, President of the Early Lake Lions visited
the Lakeshore Lions at the Jan. 8th meeting. They
have visited several times over the past several years
and have managed to escape the Grotto with several
items including our bell. This year we were ready for
them and made sure everything was either tied down
or firmly secured. Our plan is to invade their meeting
and return the favor. See ya soon.

Wow, we had a great Christmas Party! Thanks to Jeanette Fender for organizing our
evening and for everyone that attended. January started out in a run. Our first hot dog and
bake sale organized by Kirsten Sprates was held at Foods Etc and raffle tickets sold well
with Chris Coleman outselling everyone. February 2nd is our next hot dog and bake sale
also to be held at Foods Etc. Stop by, say hello, buy some baked goods, a hot dog and
some raffle tickets.
Raffle Prizes for this year’s Fish Fry on March 3rd are quite different. This year’s
Grand Prize is a two-night stay at the Featherbed Railroad Company, followed by a Wildflower ride and luncheon for two from Eleven Roses Ranch. From Bob Rider and Lakeshore Sports a Gun Safety class for two, Gut Buckets Catfish Guide trip on Clearlake provided by Tom of Gut Buckets; a Gift Basket from Aggie Berry and dinner for two at Park
Place Restaurant in Lakeport. Lakeshore Lioness truly thanks all the businesses for their
gracious donation. Tickets sell for $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00. The drawing will be held at
the Fish Fry on March 3rd.
Fish Fry dinner tickets will be sold at the door for $10.00. This year we will host a
number of day drawings, including an extra drawing. Everyone who attends the dinner
will be given an opportunity to win an additional prize. The Lower Lake High School Jazz
ensemble will be playing from 4pm to 6pm for your enjoyment and dancing for all those
who want to swing.
More NEWS! Lakeshore Lioness now has a Facebook Page. Check it out at Lakeshore Lioness. Also, we now have our own email address. Lakeshorelioness2013@yahoo.com. The Walk for Fun is coming up rapidly. It will be held on April 27th.
We are encouraging everyone to come out and Walk for Paws this year. Monies raised during this walk will be donated to the Lake County Animal Coalition, ACME Foundations
and the Free and Reduced Spay and Neutering Clinic. For more information or donations

We’re Half Way Through The Year
Time has really passed fast. The next six months will be just as fast, I trust. Before
any more time passes I would like thank each of you that have accepted the positions
that you have in your club and the District. By you accepting these positions and doing your best to fulfill the needs for those positions you make life much easier for
your fellow Lions.
I have completed over 75% of my club visits. We have some good clubs in our district that serve their community well.
We have improved our club membership and activity reporting a little. Remember the
job is not done until the paperwork is complete. All the clubs in the district has been
given the OK to brag about their projects in the local paper and the Blue Print.
Please take advantage of both.
Event Calendar
I have noticed that there are some entries in the Event Calendar. Keep us informed,
keep your events coming.
This month’s bulletin is lacking articles. Lion Andy will accept your articles starting
today. So send him something soon. He needs your articles so he can keep his title as
Blue Print Editor.
Peace Poster Contest
We only had two clubs participate this year, the Redwood Empire Club and the Vacaville Ulatis Club. The District Peace Poster Contest winner is Marisol Ceja, an 11
year of 6th grader at the St. Mary’s of the Angels School in Ukiah. The District winner was sponsored by the Ukiah Redwood Empire Club. Five members from the
American Canyon Art Foundation judged the posters for the District. Marisol’s poster
was forwarded to MD-4 to compete against the other districts in the MultipleDistrict.
Did You Know!
Our next Cabinet Meeting will be on March 8-9, 2013, in Fairfield. Registration form
will be in the next bulletin. Club level Student Speaker Contest must be complete by
Sat. 23 Feb., 2013.

Student Speaker Night– February 12th
For the 76th consecutive year the Lions Club of California will hold speech contests in local communities beginning in February 2013. Over $103,500.00 will be paid out in scholarships to the winning students. This year the topic will be "How do we create and keep
jobs in America". The Lakeshore Lions Club contest will be held at Howard's Grotto at
7:00 PM Tuesday evening February 12, 2013. All Lions and Lioness and their significant
others are invited to join the contestants and judges in enjoying the contest and another
fine Grotto culinary presentation. The contest is open to students grades 9 through 12 of
any high or junior high school. Contestants must not of completed grade 12 and must be
attending school when the contest is held and must be under the age of 21. The club contest winner receives $75.00 and the other contestants (who have completed minimum
time) will receive $25.00. The next level Zone contest winner receives $100.00. The Region winner gets $150.00. The 15 District winners will each receive a $4,500.00 scholarship. The 4 Area winners will each receive a $6,500.00 scholarship. The final winner will
receive a $10,000.00 scholarship.
Would would love to see more Lioness at this event. So please come and enjoy the speakers.
April Fools !!!!!!!!!!!! Comedy night April 6th Saturday 3 comedians coming to entertain everybody
brought to you by Lakeshore Lions. Comedians provided by the Comedy Machine. This will be a
great night for stand up comedy. This will be a great event for laughs and a good time with friends.
