Welcome to FALL - Mt. Prospect Park District
Welcome to FALL
On behalf of the Mt. Prospect Park District Board and Staff, I welcome you to our
newly redesigned Fall program brochure. We hope you enjoy the overall look and
improved layout.
The Park District has grown in its first 60 years! Currently, it includes 506 maintained
acres with six distinctly diverse public facilities offering over 800 recreational
programs. In Spring 2014, the Board of Park Commissioners made the decision
to move forward with a major golf course renovation. The Mt. Prospect Golf Club
recently reopened and we invite you to come out and play a round of golf. We
hope you agree the newly designed course is one of the best public golf courses
in Suburban Chicago!
Fall is the perfect time to get out and “Take time for Fun”! Enroll in a program,
attend a special event, sign up for a fitness membership or simply enjoy one of
our beautiful parks.
It is our goal at the Mt. Prospect Park District to act as a cornerstone in the
community with an eye on excellence in all areas of recreation. We strive to
improve the quality of life for you and your family. We look forward to serving
you in your quest for FUN!

NEW! Pickleball for Seniors
Join the pickleball craze! Pickleball, a game that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and ping pong, is sweeping the country. Pickleball players use wooden paddles and whiffle balls to play on a badminton-sized court with a slightly modified tennis net.
This low-impact sport is easier on the knees and shoulders than tennis as it does not involve as much running or arm strength.
Pickleball is a recreational game that is designed to encourage an active lifestyle. We are offering two levels of beginner classes
for interested seniors who want to play this easy-to-learn game. Instructor: SportsKids

Tai Chi (13 yr-Adult)
Engaging the Core
Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese health exercise that promotes
vitality, structural balance, strength and longevity for all ages.
It utilizes specific breathing techniques and slow, precise physical movements to help prevent arthritis, respiratory disease and
high blood pressure. Exercises can also be modified to be done
in a chair. Instructor: Lawrence Hwang (DF)
Many people think 6-pack abs are the key to a strong core, but
a 6-pack alone does little to support and stabilize the spine.
Good news - there are simple and effective ways to learn about
the other muscles that comprise the core, how to engage them,
and how to avoid or reduce back pain. Come learn about the
Circle of Integrity so you can stand, sit, and move with proper
support. No yoga experience required. Registered yoga teachers
earn 2 CEU’s. Instructor: Angela Nicolosi (DF)
