Wear your Jeans to school for the day to help us raise awareness. A gold coin donation would be greatly appreciated. There will also be Jeans for Genes merchandise for sale! 'Allo 'Allo Bonbeach Bookworms! Welcome to the post half way mark of the Victorian Premiers Reading Challenge! We have four Completed Challengers to join the ranks of Reading Stars! Congratulations Ari Koem, Andrei Gubin, Tyler Middleton and Alana Kikidopoulos! Stand and take a bow! Also among our Reading Superstars, Oscar Chipperfield has read 100 books and listed them all online! If you are not sure what to read next, Oscar might be a great person to ask for suggestions. Reading is a great way of introducing new words, new ideas and creative ways to think. Reading doesn’t have to be a solitary adventure (although that is certainly the allure at times). When a book is shared, the new words are doubled, the new ideas are expanded and the creative thinking can lead to more adventures. If your child’s VPRC username and password have been misplaced, forgotten or eaten by the cat, please don’t hesitate to contact me (via Wendy or email) and I will send a copy home as soon as possible. If you are unsure what to read with your child, the VPRC website has an overwhelming list that might help, I can assist you in ideas and the librarians at your local library (Chelsea, Dingley, Frankston, Parkdale just to name a few) are more than helpful. They have extensive knowledge of the books available and are advocates for the Premiers Reading Challenge. The Reading Challenge closes in 6 weeks. Book sharing is caring Miss Thomas The Uniform Shop is open on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month from 8:50am - 9:15am. Prepaid completed orders forms can be left at the office to be filled. Orders will then be available for collection Tuesday afternoons from the office. All students from grade 2-6 are invited to compete and can be from any level – both beginners, and other students who do gymnastics outside of school. There are two separate divisions, and under each division a gymnast can choose from one of the three routines for each apparatus (bars, beam, floor and vault): Legends - Level 2 and above. Champions - Beginners and Level 1. In order for this to be possible there will need to be some assistance from families to transport the students to and from school. The entry cost per child is $16. Any families that are interested please see Miss Evans for further information. Madeleine Evans
