The University of Georgia Marching Band Camps are
proud to offer a dynamic camp for aspiring high
school band leaders that seek to make a difference in
their schools’ marching bands. Through either a twoday camp, or intensive one-day experience, students will
interact with high energy instructors who will guide
them to serve, inspire, motivate, and grow personally
as future leaders.

Two-Day Camp Experience
June 8-10, 2014
Come experience a small taste of campus life in Athens!
In this two-day camp, leadership campers will experience
a dynamic keynote address by a world-class speaker.
Campers will also participate in breakout sessions led
by veteran music educators. Instructors will teach
sessions on team building, communication, how to
run a marching or music section, and how to grow
as a leader. This camp is perfect for a school’s entire
leadership team, as it promotes cohesiveness within
the group. Special sessions for full leadership teams
will be made available during the camp.

In a one-day intensive camp, students will interact
with other high school student leaders from
across the southeast. like the two-day camp, students
will experience sessions focusing on instruction,
communication, and motivation. This shorter camp
packs a big punch and is perfect for those school and
students that need a more affordable option.

This camp serves students of all ability levels, from those who
hope to audition into their high school guard through drum
corps and winter guard veterans. Students who wish to begin
work or desire advanced instruction on rifle or sabre may have
that opportunity at the discretion of the staff.

Additional staff includes veterans of the Redcoat Band and other
collegiate drumlines and front ensembles, alumni and instructors
of elite drum and bugle corps, and certified scholastic music
educators from across the country. Students audition into a
camp drumline based on current ability level, and will learn and
perform with this group. The curriculum will include technique,
performance practice, along with performance and rehearsal
repertoire appropriate for the student’s current demonstrated
performance ability.
