SCHILLING studio Gallery, the mission of the “Where in the World Does
Your Wine Come From?” National Poster Challenge is to use art as a catalyst
for the promotion and protection of wine regions across the world. The
Challenge is the first national, juried poster competition celebrating the
grapes and regions of origin for the world’s most diverse wines.
The final National Poster Exhibition will take place in Telluride, Colorado
during the Telluride Wine Festival June 24 to 27th, 2010. Each of the
selected Twenty posters will be selected to be displayed at the festival with
cash awards given to the “Best in Show” and “People’s Choice”. All finalists
artwork will be sold at SCHILLING studio Gallery throughout the festival.

Artists are challenged to create a poster design
with their interpretation of “Where in the World
Does your Wine Come From?”
When it comes to wine, there is no ingredient
more important than location. The land, air, water,
and weather in the region where the grapes are
grown are what make each wine unique. That’s
why great names like Port, Champagne, Rioja,
Boudreaux, Napa and Sonoma are more than just
types of wine; they’re from specific regions in
specific countries.
Whether you’re talking about foods like Florida
Oranges or Alaskan Salmon or wines like
Champagne or Port -- location matters. Where a
product comes from plays an important role in
determining its character and quality. And that’s
why the Center for Wine Origins was founded – to
help Americans remember that location matters
when it comes to wine. While excellent wine is
produced around the world, it is important to
know where your wine comes from.
Artists may submit no more than two poster designs,
however, no more than one poster will be chosen for
display at the Telluride Wine Festival for the show.
Artists are challenged to create a poster with their
interpretation of “Where in the World Does your Wine
Come From?” and final selections will be chosen based on
artistic excellence in reflection of the above theme. The
artwork must also meet the following qualifications:
• Promote the recognition of Champagne or Port
wines, or a recognized wine region from across the
world.
• Poster must be submitted in JPG or GIF format.
• Artist, photographers and graphic designers located
throughout the United States are encouraged to
submit their posters.
An independent jury will select 20 finalists nationwide. The jury will include
representatives from the Telluride Wine Festival, Center for Wine Origins and
SCHILLING studio Gallery. Awards will be given for the following:
•
Center for Wine Origins Best in Show: A single $500 cash award will be
presented to the poster promoting the recognition of the Champagne and
Port wine regions deemed “Best in Show” by our judges. Both regions
must be recognized within the design. The artist receiving the “Best in
Show” will be showcased on the Center for Wine Origins website and
included in all media materials printed thereafter.
•
People’s Choice: A single $250 cash award will be presented to one
poster promoting the recognition of any wine region (ex. Rioja,
Bourdeaux, Rhone, Walla Walla, Oregon, Paso Robles, Sherry, Napa and
Sonoma) deemed “People’s Choice” by the wine festival attendees. The
artist receiving the “Best in Show” will be showcased on the Center for
Wine Origins website and included in all media materials printed
thereafter.
All of the 20 artists selected for the exhibition will be included in the program,
media outreach and featured on the Center for Wine Origins website.
Additionally, each poster will be for sale throughout the Telluride Wine
Festival at SCHILLING studio Gallery.

SUBMISSION
Poster must be submitted in high resolution (300 dpi) JPG, PDF or GIF
format. Please keep in mind that the finalist’s poster will be enlarged and
printed for the art exhibition. All work must be submitted by
May 15th

• A fully completed submission form (next page)
• An artist statement
Your submission is original in conception and this is not a copy or reproduction of any other work
The Center for Wine Origins has your irrevocable permission, without restriction, to use images of your work in
the reproduction for display, catalogs, posters, advertising, media outreach, educational and promotional
materials for this event as well as other events as the Center may determine in its sole and absolute discretion.
If you are selected as a finalist your poster will be displayed at the Telluride Wine Festival and sold at
SCHILLING studio Gallery and that you as the artist will be given a portion of the sales.
