Pangaea Exploration’s One Water Story Join Pangaea Explorations on our latest expedition to gather the stories of the Great Lakes, while sharing our vision of the sea. Pangaea is about to undertake one of their most ambitious and exciting expeditions to date. Sea Dragon, Pangaea’s research sailing vessel, is now preparing to set sail on its first mission into the vast, exquisite fresh water bodies known as Great Lakes. Together with educators, researchers, students, families and friends, the Pangaea Exploration is preparing to experience all that the Great Lakes ecosystem has to offer. We aim to discover the untold stories of the Lakes and their people, and share them with our followers and friends all over North America. We also plan to bring with us the stories of the sea- stories we have collected throughout our many previous research expeditions all over the world. Pangaea wants to share these stories with the many communities of the Lakes region, in an effort to create a greater awareness and connection between Lakes and Ocean issues. We hope to inspire Great Lakes communities to better understand their waters, and develop a bigger picture of our water systems. Pangaea offers unique and engaging adventures for sailors of any age or sailing background. Our passengers will enjoy premier quality sail training aboard Sea Dragon, under the care of our knowledgeable and experienced crew. A Unique Adventure for the Curious and Concerned Citizens of North America! Throughout the voyage, crew will participate in the gathering of environmental data, and learn from experienced scientists on board as they conduct their work on the water. While learning to sail, you will also gain unique insight into the interesting world of field research. Everyone on board will be invited to take part in the story telling process, capturing their Great Lakes experience through photographs, film, art and writing. Their work will be incorporated into a multimedia project that will highlight just how important this precious ecosystem is to the North American way of life. This multi-media project, known as the One Water Story, will be published once the voyage is completed. Expedition Route Setting sail from Cape Cod, Massachusetts, Sea Dragon will first venture North along the Eastern Seaboard towards the Bay of Fundy, and then onwards to Nova Scotia, Canada. It will then continue onwards towards the St. Lawrence Estuary, where it will begin its passage through the lakes via the St. Lawrence Seaway. Sea Dragon will then begin her voyage around Lake Ontario, Lake Erie, Huron and Michigan. Sea Dragon will make the return voyage to Bermuda via the St. Lawrence Seaway.
