she uses he r skills to support clients as they develop a concrete sense of their hopes and dreams. She is the first contact for
clients to determine whether H & H Builders is the right design-build company to for the client’s needs.
John Happel has over 35 years of expe rie nce in reside ntia l cons truction and De nver home remodeling. A Ce rtifie d Gra duate
Remodele r (CGR), he holds a Maste rs degree in Structura l E nginee ring a nd is a Licensed Professional Engine er (PE ). John is
typically the firs t H & H Builde rs staff member to visit a job site. From evaluating structural possibilities to managing z oning
and code limitations, John is invested in thorough pre cons truction – the key to a sm ooth design build cons truction process.
As a form er Director and Chair of the Council of Professional Rem odele rs of the Home Builde rs Association of Metro
Denver, John's ca reful oversight helps to defuse potential re mode ling problems before they occur. John's design and
engineering expertise and hands-on training make him an ideal Project Supervisor for a Denver home remodeling project.

The Opportunity
Join a profitable remodeling company as Vice President, Sales and Production. The successful candidate would have a desire
for partial leading to full-ownership while working with current ownership over a fixed period, providing a smooth and
successful transition for both parties. Fixed period or immediate buyout may vary pending negotiations and appropriate
disclosures with current ownership.
As the CEO-in-waiting your primary function is generating new sales and marketing opportunities, managing business
operations to ensure our historica l profitability. Also as a key member of our corporate team you would be respons ible to
facilitate the sales and construction process from the initial sa les meeting, through owner's acceptance, leading to project
construction, safety, quality, schedule, subcontract negotiation, and management of the construction operation for all
projects.
What You Will Be Doing

• Manageadvertisingandmailingstopromotebusinessopportunities,
• Managecollectionofprojectpaymentsfromclients,
• Attendandhelpchairallpre-construction meetingswithclients,
• Superviseand/orperforminitialleadsintakeconversations,
• Meetwithpotentialclientsattheinitialsalesmeetings,
• PresentandclosePhase1Design&Budgetingagreements,
• Supervisetheinitialdesignprocess,
• Prepareprojectbudgets,
• Prepare,presentandcloseConstruction Contracts,
• Bedriventosucceedfinancially.
Projectmanagement,including butnotlimited to:
• Supervisepreparationofbiweeklyjobplanningcalendar,
• Review,inconjunction withtheCEO,theexecutionofproject plans&biweeklyjobplanningcalendaronanongoingbasis,
• Reviewprojectbudgetsversusperformanceonaminimumofabiweeklybasis,
• Supervisethepre-construction processwithclients,
• Superviseandattend,asneeded,projectmeetingswithclients&leadcarpenters,
• Supervisepreparationofandreviewproject construction document.
What You Will Bring
•
Experience in remodeling industry; whole house or kitchen & bath.
•
A Bachelor's degree is required.
•
Proven direct sales experience.
•
5 years estimating experience and general knowledge of the residential home building.
•
Effective organizational and time management skills.
•
Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills.
•
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
•
Accurate and detail oriented.
•
Strong inte rpe rsonal skills with the ability to inte ract and rela te effectively, productively, and positively with other
Associates.
•
Dependable, punctual, reliable.
•
Ability to work a schedule that may include hours other than 8-5 Monday through Friday , depe nding on business
needs.
•
Professional Engineer – Structural Engineering a plus.
•
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Project, Excel, Outlook and Word.
