Temporary cards, copy cards and the requirements of book-borrowing are available upon request in the Mathematics Division Office. 2.The Post O([ice @The post office is situated near the east entrance of university. 3.Shui Mu Bookstore(7Ut: M) @It's situated on the first floor in Feng Yun Lou(Jl ~ ifl). 3.You can look up the locations of other facilities, such as swimming pool, gymnasium, and basketball field in the campus map . about TRANSPORTATION Please get familiar with the bus route information before venturing out. All instructions on bus stops in Taiwan are in Chinese. It is advised that you let the driver know where you want to get off once you get on. I.Public Transportation @TOHSmCHUDOWNTOWN You can get around Hsinchu downtown (or the train station) by local bus taken at the stops just opposite to the main gate of university. The fare is NT$I5 in exact change. The bus is run in every I O~ 15 minutes in peak hours, but more than 20 minutes in off-peak hours. @ TO OTHER MAJOR CITIES The most convenient way to other cities is to by train. If you would like to go to the train station, the local bus at the stop opposite to the main gate of university will take you there. @ TO TAIPEI Buses heading for Taipei can be found at the stops near the east entrance of university. It takes about one and half an hours to get to Taipei by bus. You can take Va-lien bus (.li~9 ~ $-JI) directly to National Taiwan University( if j~ *~ ), and Fe-go buses (m:11v E ±) to the eastern of Taipei, which is in the neighborhood of Academia Sinica( If ~1i}f JE r;t). 2.Limo Service(charged) If you don't speak Chinese, ask a favor of secretaries in the office, who can arrange the transportation for you and give you some advice. @ Sendar Car Rental Company ii03-5737081 ,5736757,0933085078 Fax: 03-5736892, 5727853 . about Recreation @You can take good advantage of facilities on campus to exercise, inclusive of an indoor swimming pool, table tennis courts , badminton courts, as well as outdoor facilities for basketball, baseball, volleyball, and tennis. You can ask for tickets for swimming, badminton and tennis in the Mathematics Division Office. @ There is an art center with regular exhibitions on the first floor of the Second General Building( ~ -=-ft,'* ~ * it). @ You can rent spectacular VCDs from the video & comic rental shop in the building of Shui Mu Restaurant (71\.* ~. ) . @You can find numerous department stores, boutiques, bookstores and mOVIe theaters in downtown area. @ Turn on the radio to FMIOO.7 MHz for ICRT(lnternational Community Radio Taipei), which is an English-only channel providing real-time news and fantastic mUSIC programs.
