PRESS RELEASE LONGINES PARIS EIFFEL JUMPING LONGINES GLOBAL CHAMPIONS TOUR 2nd edition Champ de Mars – July 3, 4, 5 2015 Free Access Longines Paris Eiffel Jumping, 8th leg of prestigious Longines Global Champions Tour, unveils the stunning artistic poster of this second edition, created by Paola Pivi, represented by Galerie Perrotin Astonishing photography, brought to life at an extraordinary photo shoot: Horses flying at the first floor of the Eiffel Tower Paris, May 4th 2015 – In less than 50 days, Champ-de-Mars esplanade will host the 30 World’s best riders and horses, renowned amateur riders and almost 120.000 visitors for the 2 nd edition of Longines Paris Eiffel Jumping, a 5* show jumping competition and a cultural and social gathering at the heart of Paris. The event, thought in close collaboration with the Town Hall of Paris and open to the general public, will occur on July 3rd, 4th and 5th 2015. After having collaborated with Robert Combas artist for the very first edition of Longines Paris Eiffel Jumping, Virginie Coupérie-Eiffel, event’s president and founder, proposed to Paola Pivi, Italian contemporary artist, to create the official poster of this 2nd edition… A slightly extraordinary dream, which became reality thanks to Galerie Perrotin that exhibits the artist from June 4th to August 1st 2015 in Paris, and the Société d’Exploitation de la Tour Eiffel. Thanks to the involvement of new contemporary artist each year, Longines Paris Eiffel Jumping is proud to promote and respect artistic creation. She imagined an outstanding scenario and succeeded the ambitious bet to shoot horses at the heart of the Eiffel Tower’s impressive steel architecture, for an unusual and poetic photo session. Four stallions, owned by the famous horse trainer Mario Luraschi, were used in the ambitious process to achieve the perfect image on at sunrise on the first floor of the Eiffel Tower. The poster of Longines Paris Eiffel Jumping 2nd edition has been taken from this photographs series. This new series of photographs will be displayed from June 4th to August 1st at Galerie Perrotin, within the framework of Paola Pivi’s exhibition “Yee-Haw”. This will be her 9th solo show at Galerie Perrotin. A ***** international show jumping competition Three days of “Horse for all” and festivities at the heart of Paris For this competition 2nd edition, Longines, historic support of the equestrian world, becomes the title partner. The event is also organized in partnership with the Town Hall of Paris. Longines Global Champions Tour international show jumping tournament, chaired by Jan Tops, is the show jumping’s premier championship series. Longines Paris Eiffel Jumping is proud to integrate this championship for the second successive year, and to be one of the 15 legs of Longines Global Champions Tour, taking place in exceptional locations such as Miami Beach, Monaco, Shanghai, London and Doha. This event is a 5* competition, the highest rank in the hierarchy of the International Equestrian Federation (FEI), counting for the World’s ranking. Once again, in keeping with the 1st event in 2014, the tribune of the competition will be free and open to the general public. Competition will especially bring together Olympic champions and World’s champion, of which the winner of the first edition, Kevin Staut, as well as Jessica Springsteen; and also renowned amateur riders such as Guillaume Canet, Sofia Abramovich and Charlotte Casiraghi. The three days of competition will be punctuated by animations and shows around the diverse equestrian disciplines and arts.
