On its application, the reservoir walls must be perforated for the tubing passage and at this moment it is necessary the use of Sealing Flanges for to promote the stanching of these points. 7 Introduction It is essential the use of Sealing Flanges on any perforation made on contention reservoirs for the lines passage. This procedure warrants the system stanching. The Zeppini FV are available on different measures and 2 different models: – Conventional – FV – Allows the entry of the simple wall tubing on the contention reservoirs, as for example breather, electrical, monitoring, fuels suction, etc. lines. – FV – with Secondary protection – Used on double wall lines, this equipment has application mainly on the fuel transportation with positive pressure, allowing the primary tube entry (tube with fuel) and providing the external secondary tube installation, what, on case of leakage on the primary tube, retains these leakages impeaching the environment contamination. This FV allows also the realization of stanching tests between the primary and secondary tubing through a test nozzle where it is applied pressure between the tubing. The Sealing Flanges offered by Zeppini are highly reliable and offers safety and tranquility to the fueling stations operators. Over than, its installation it is too simple since its fixation is made through the nut and lock-nut system what eliminates the use of screws, nuts, etc... 8 Sealing Flange TRANSPORTATION, STORAGE AND RECEPTION The correct FV transportation and storage is extremely important for to warrant the equipment integrity. The FVs are packed on appropriated boxes where can be accommodated up to 5 units per box. For to transport and to store these products, follow rigorously the instructions: ! Transport the FVs on adequate vehicles inside its packages. Keep the FVs away from sharpened objects that could damage it. Avoid impacts during the FVs transportation. Store carefully the FVs, protecting it against impacts, sharpened objects and flexion. Protect the FVs from the ultraviolet rays (UV) keeping it stored on protected place until the moment of its installation. Don’t place heavy objects over the FVs. ! If necessary to stack the FVs, do it with care. Bad stacked equipments can slip and to cause personal injuries or product damages. 9 FV Components FV COMPONENTS The Sealing Flange is composed by: 1 2 3 7 8 4 5 6 – Flange ................................................................................ – Sealing ring ........................................................................ – Tightening nut .................................................................... – Nut clamp........................................................................... – Bellows .............................................................................. – Secondary tube clamp (*) ................................................. – Test nozzle (*) .................................................................... – Primary tube clamp ........................................................... 1 part 1 part 1 part 1 part 1 part 1 part 1 part 1 part (*) Items available only on the FV with Secondary Protection ! 10 At the moment of the reception, check if all the materials were sent on the correct quantity and if it doesn’t presents damages or defects. Reject materials delivered out of the Zeppini specification! Sealing Flange INSTALLATION NECESSARY TOOLS AND MATERIALS For to install the FVs is necessary the use of the following tools and materials according to the items below: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Electrical drill Cup-saw of appropriated size (see annex 2) Tightening wrench on “PE” Support wrench on “PE” Screwdriver We recommend the use of the Tightening and Support Wrenches developed by Zeppini for to install the FVs.These wrenches apply an effective and safe tightening to the components facilitating the installation. INSTALLATION PROCEDURE The FV installation is divided on 3 main stages, as follows: 1 st Phase – Flange Installation 2 nd Phase – Bellows Installation 3 rd Phase – Stanching Test ! Observe the procedures and safety warnings described on the installation instructions. 11 Installation 1 st Phase – Flange Installation Step 1 Perforate the contention reservoir wall on the tubing passage exact point using a cup-saw of adequate size according to the annex 2. Step 2 Insert the flange on the perforation made on the step 1 by the reservoir external side. Step 3 Insert the sealing ring on the flange thread by the RC internal side paying attention to the ring salience that must be pointing to inside the reservoir. Step 4 Place the Sealing Nut on the Flange thread by the reservoir internal side. Step 5 Tighten the Flange/Tightening Nut assembly using the Support and Tightening Wrenches with an adequate torque. 12 Sealing Flange ! When perforating the RC wall, pay attention to the size of the used cup-saw. It must correspond to the FV size as shown on annex 2. Never use any other tool for to perforate the contention reservoirs walls, as this practice can compromise its stanching! Install the flange, the sealing ring and the tightening nut according to the sequence and order described on the 1 st Stage, the non accomplishment of these procedures and possible inversions on the components order will compromise the equipment stanching. The excessive tightening of the flange/tightening nut assembly can result on components breakage, because of this it is recommended the use of the tightening and support wrenches developed for this purpose. 13 Installation 2 nd Phase – Bellows Installation Step 1 Insert the side of bigger diameter of the bellows on the tightening nut undercut. Step 2 Install the nut clamp involving the bellows and tighten it against the nut. Step 3 For the Secondary Protection type FV follow the step 4, for the Conventional FV follow the step 6. Step 4 Insert the secondary tubing by the FV until it touch on the bellows stop. Step 5 Install the secondary tube clamp and tighten it against the tube. Step 6 Insert the primary tubing by the FV in such a way for to trespass the Bellows. Step 7 Install the primary tube clamp and tighten it against the tube. 14 Sealing Flange On the FV with secondary protection, the test nozzle must be turned downwards for to facilitate the draining of possible liquids between the tubing walls. ! The Bellows installation and the clamps tightening is indispensable in order to the FV provides stanching. During the Step 1, assure that the bellows extremity remains touching on the salience of the tightening nut. 15 Installation 3 rd Phase – StanchingTest Step 1 Close the tubing entry in order to render it stanch. Step 2 Fill the RC with water until to cover completely the FV. Step 3 Mark the water level with the marker pencil on the Reservoir wall. Step 4 Wait from 15 to 30 minutes and check the water level. This one must be exactly the same previously marked. Step 5 If there is level variation, make the necessary repairs and make again the stanching test, otherwise the installation is finished. 16 Sealing Flange OPERATION The operation of this equipment is applicable only to the FV’s with Secondary Protection and consists on to realize the stanching test between the tubing. Step 1 Connect the “Test Kit for FV with secondary protection” on the test nozzle. Step 2 Connect the compressed air line on the “Test Kit for FV with secondary protection”. Step 3 Observing the Kit manometer, inject air on the system until to reach 5 PSI on the pressure. Step 4 Check the manometer reading during 30 minutes, if the pressure is maintained, it means that the primary and secondary tubing doesn’t presents damages, otherwise it must be realized the adequate maintenance on the tubing. Step 5 Disconnect from the FV test nozzle the “Test Kit for FV with secondary protection”. 17 Maintenance MAINTENANCE The FV maintenance must be realized at each 6 months and is summarized on the bellows cleaning and on the retightening of the equipment. Step 1 Using a humid cloth, make a bellows cleaning for to remove possible debris that could damage it. Step 2 Retighten the tightening nut and all the clamps existing on the FV warranting the stanching. Step 3 Remove the internal valve existing on the test nozzle, make its cleaning and install it again (*). (*) Items available only on the FV with Secondary Protection 18 Sealing Flange WARNINGS AND RECOMMENDATIONS For to warrant the FV integrity during its entire life, follow the Warnings and Recommendations: ! The tubing that trespass the FVs must be perpendicular to the reservoir walls. The tubing maximum entry angle on the FV must be of 15 degrees, if this angle is surpassed, will occurs serious equipment damages. 19 Warnings and Recommendations ! Warrant that the FV don’t remains on constant contact with fuels, as this will cause equipment damages. Don’t allow the contact of sharpened objects with the FV Bellows, as this could cause equipment damages and stanching loss. At the moment of the reservoirs maintenance, don’t step on the FV or on the tubing that trespass it, as this practice can cause the equipment breakage. When handling the tubing that trespass the FV, take care for that the FV bellows doesn’t suffers deformations, as this could to break it. 20 Sealing Flange ANNEX 1 – FV DRAWING WITH GENERAL MEASURES A A B B 38 64,5 96,5 71,5 50 C D E CODE DIMENSION 91107016 91107024 91107032 91107138 91107040 91107059 91107067 91107075 91107083 ½" ¾" 1" 1.¼" 1.½" 2" 2.½" 3" 4" 91108020 91108012 91107105 2.½" x 1.½" 2.½" x 2" 2" x 1.½" A B C SEALING FLANGE ON "PE" 32,5 32,5 32,5 50 50 62 75 110 110 22,5 25,5 --40 ------80 --- 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 114 114 D E 126 126 126 126 126 126 126 166 166 ------------------- 126 126 126 75 75 62 FLANGE - SECUNDARY PROTECTION WITH TEST VALVE 62 62 50 50 ----- 77 77 77 21 Annex ANNEX 2 – FV TABLE X CUP-SAW FV Diameter 22 Cup-Saw diameter 1/2”, 3/4", 1", 1.1/2", 2", 2.1/2" 3.5/8” 3", 4" 5” Rev.: 01 - Nov.13
