OAP Decorating 4MB
Decorating for older and
disabled tenants
EastendHomes offers a decorating programme for its older
and disabled tenants on a five year rolling programme
You can be included in this programme if
you are:
A tenant, and
over the age of 65 and in receipt of Housing Benefit or
Income Support,
or
over the age of 60 and in receipt of Disability Living
Allowance.
Unfortunately, because of limited resources we are
unlikely to be able to include you in our programme if you
have someone aged 18-60 living with you.
This scheme is only open to EastendHomes tenants—if
you are a leaseholder or have applied for the Right To Buy
you will not be eligible.
Choosing your colour scheme
When the programme moves into your area, the
decorator will make an appointment to visit you
at home so you can choose the colour of paint
and/or the wallpaper you would like.
At this first visit the contractor will note down
colours or wallpapers you have chosen together
with any special needs you may have and
whether you would like help with moving
furniture before the decorating begins.
Before Decorating
The decorators will help move any furniture if this is
needed.
Please remember to tuck away any fragile or valuable
items to help avoid any damage, breakage or loss.
While your home is being decorated
While carrying out the decorating, the decorator will
use dustsheets at all times to protect your furniture
and flooring.
Your decorator will attend every working day until the
job is complete.
The decorator will be respectful to you and your home
at all times.
Although decorating can be fairly stressful we want it
to be as easy as possible. If anything at all goes
wrong please contact us on 0207 517 4714.
After Decorating
To make sure the decorating has been carried out
properly and to a good standard, we may visit your
home to inspect the decorating after it has been
carried out.
We will send out satisfaction questionnaires so we
can check how satisfied you were with the work and
whether we can identify any improvements to how we
run this scheme.
Getting The Job Done
We always follow up on satisfaction surveys you send us following the
decorating. On these pages you can see work being carried out, along
with some quotes from residents who have had decorating carried out
in the past (some names have been
changed).
