97.1 QMG (WQMG-FM) is the #1 rated radio station in the market. WQMG’s format
is Urban AC and delivers 72% of the African American audience in the Triad. 70% of
the Triad’s population is located in 3 counties, Guilford, Forsyth and Alamance. In
those counties 33% of the population is Black, a huge share of the market you are
missing if you are not using WQMG. Unlike a lot of radio stations, 97.1 QMG does not
have a competitor and there are very few options when targeting the black consumer

The Greensboro/Winston-Salem/High Point/Burlington (The Triad) metro
survey area is comprised of eight counties: Alamance, Davidson, Davie,
Forsyth, Guilford, Randolph, Stokes and Yadkin Counties. The market is
located in Central North Carolina in a region termed the Piedmont.

The Triad population is 1,340,700 persons 6 and older. It is the 46th ranked
market based on Arbitron population data.

Almost 60% of the Triad population resides in Guilford and Forsyth
Counties. 32% of the combined population of Guilford and Forsyth County
are African-American. 98% of all African-Americans live in Guilford, Forsyth
and Alamance Counties, representing 292,400 people.

