News from the Office…
This is our last newsletter of the year. It is hard to believe that it is already June. Students
are working hard to finish the year strong. Planning is almost complete for next year with
staffing and scheduling being finalized.
I would like to thank everyone who helped make our year a successful one. École Edward
Schreyer School is a special place because of the way everyone works together to support
our students as they prepare for their futures. Thank you to our staff for the endless commitment and dedication to our students. Thank you parents for the support you provide to
our students as they develop into the wonderful people we all hope for. Lastly, thank you
to our students for helping make our school a better place. I am truly amazed at how mature and devoted our student leaders are as they commit endless hours of hard work to
help make ÉESS the school that it is today.
To our staff that will not be returning next fall, thank-you for your dedication and commitment to student learning and development, we will miss you but wish you well on the next
chapter in your life; ÉESS is a better place because of what you have done during your
time here.
Good luck to all our students as they prepare for end of year assessments and year end
activities. Finish strong and go into the summer proud of what you accomplished at
school.
Mr. P. Ilchena, Mrs. C. Blocker and Mr. A. Penner

Music Department
October 1, 2015
Parents should have received a letter or email from Long &
McQuade regarding your child’s instrument rental.
As we are concluding this school year, our ideas for
the upcoming school year are already being planned.
If you are unable to return your child‘s instrument by the date
that the rental company has issued, please bring it to the
school no later than June 17. Ms. Lamb will make arrangement to return it for you.
On October 1, 2015 you will want to come to École
Edward Schreyer School and see how the students
and staff are taking care of the Earth and the people
we share it with. Students will be showcasing the
highlights of things they have done personally, as a
group, school community or an activity in class.
Congratulations!
… to our Senior Orchestra
who had an outstanding
performance at the Moose
Jaw Band and Choral Festival.
… to the grade 7/8 Concert
Band and the grade 7/8
String Orchestra on receiving the Gold Award for performance excellence at the
Regina Spring Festival.
… to all students on a fine
performance at our Spring
Concert on May 28.
We have included many businesses and members
from within our community as we build partnerships
in supporting the people closest to us. Become part
of this team by attending our October 1 day to find
ways that you may partner with one of our initiatives.

ÉESS Courtyard Update
We would like to thank Trevor Proutt and Green Oak Ventures for their generous donation of topsoil to our courtyard!
This soil will help spruce up our flower beds and aid in the creation of a vegetable garden. Vegetables have been planted
and will be harvested in the fall to be used in the Foods area.
Green Oak Ventures is a local company involved in many different types of landscaping projects. Once again, we greatly
appreciate their generous contribution to our school and our sustainable development goals!

Senior Years NEWS
Senior Years Track & Field
Run Fast. Jump High. Throw Far. That was definitely the case on May 26th here at École Edward Schreyer School, as we
hosted the Zone 13 Track and Field Championships. 19 Schools from our zone, 262 athletes in total, came to compete in
this event. This event could not have run as smooth as it did without the 30 student volunteers that helped throughout
the day. Thank you to all the volunteers, we really appreciate your energy and commitment to making this school event a
success. On the hot summer day, many students set personal bests for the events that they competed in. ÉESS was represented by 28 athletes who participated throughout the day. 12 of those athletes excelled in their event and have qualified for Provincials, which is being held June 4th - 6th at the University of Manitoba. Good luck!
