Berlin Times
Bangkok in Berlin
They look fancy, these new Berlin eTuk-Tuks – and
they are environmentally friendly. The tuk-tuks can
be hired with driver, but – with a valid driver’s license
– you can also drive them yourself. The cars, holding
4 or 7 people, are equipped with a radio and PA system. Thus, a guide can explain the highlights of tours
which can be individually put together. A new way to
explore Berlin – for groups of up to 50 people.
Tip: Next to the restaurant is the bar „Le Croco
Bleu“. The location is a former engine room and
the concept is from one of Berlins’ most popular bartenders. This combination gives “Le Croco Bleu” its special attraction for Berliners. The
bar can be rented exclusively for events.
Happy Birthday, Currywurst!
The Berlin „Currywurst“ (fried sausage
with a special spicy
sauce) celebrates its
65th anniversary – and
is more popular than
ever. In Berlin alone,
an amazing 70 million currywursts are consumed
every year.

Much faster than the tuk-tuks, but equally environmentally friendly are the new racing cars with
electric motor. The Formula E is brand new – starting this fall, races take place world-wide on city
circuits – organized on behalf of the FIA (Fédération Internationale de l’ Automobile) who also organizes the Formula 1 races. The season with
10 competitions per year started this September
and ends in June 2015. The 9th race will take place
in Berlin, on the former Berlin Tempelhof airport
grounds. Former Formula 1 drivers such as Jarno
Trulli and Nick Heidfeld will be among the drivers.
We are busy putting together attractive programmes around the Formula E event!

Contemporary and Culinary Art
22885 Barsbüttel
Located in the trendy neighbourhood Prenzlauer
Berg, the restaurant „La Soupe Populaire“ combines contemporary and culinary art. It is located
in what is known as the Studio House where changing exhibitions of contemporary art are shown.
Owner and Michelin star chef Tim Raue creates
the regularly changing menu, inspired by the displayed art. The interior is deliberately kept minimalist, in order for guests not be distracted from the
art and the fine food. Dinners can be booked for
up to 130 people at “La Soupe Populaire”.

The rustic Fish Auction Hall at Hamburg’s harbour
was turned into an event location of the twenties
for this social function – including a pompously decorated art deco dining-hall, a whiskey bar with
heavy leather furniture and a casino area with
craps and black jack tables.
The 700 international guests were welcomed by
flapper girls and gangsters, true to the style of the
twenties. A live band inspired the crowd to dance
the night away.

CONFERENCE – EVENT – DESTINATION – ASSOCIATION MANAGEMENT
High End at the Alster banks
The new App Generation
Hamburg has recently acquired a kind of New
York city feeling: In late June, the Radisson Blu
Hotel, located in the heart of Hamburg, right by
the Alster, has opened its new roof terrace “High
End”. Located at a height of 115 metres, it is perfectly suited for exclusive events and holds up to
100 people.
At this year’s European Congress of
Pathology (ECP), CPO also launched a
new generation in App development:
Via this state-of-the-art app, participants
can make use of many new features on
both smartphones and tablets. They can
navigate the sessions by day and by
time slot, find meeting rooms via interactive maps,
search for abstracts, authors and contributors,
search for exhibitors, get stand locations and additional company information. In “My Congress”, participants can bookmark their favorite sessions, lectures, but also booths. During sessions, questions
can be sent to the chairs – anonymously, if preferred. General information on the congress is provided as well. The app can be used offline, however,
is updated when the device is online. The organizer
can update information at any stage. Any kind of
corporate design and special congress features
can be incorporated into the app – while, at the
same time, it offers new sponsoring opportunities.
A new charming location in Hamburg
Right in the middle of Hamburg’s trendy neighbourhood “Schanzenviertel”, the “Schanzenhöfe”
can be found, a unique location in old, refurbished premises.
In 2012, the Ratsherren Brewery already opened
here and this summer, the Ratsherren Vestibule
was added. The latter offers 160 sqm of meeting
space including AV equipment. Adjacent rooms
can be added where necessary.
Port Anniversary – a Hamburg Classic
The world’s biggest port festival takes place in
Hamburg every year. For 4 days in May, everything
is about the harbor, the ships and maritime topics.
Along with it, there are a show programme, ship
parades, fireworks and much more. Countless
possibilities for an unforgettable event. Next year’s
dates are 8 – 10 May 2015.
Congress Times
London Classic
On the occasion of the European Congress of
Pathology (ECP), which took place in London with
approx. 3,400 participants this year, CPO staged
an exclusive classical concert for the congress
participants. It took place at the Central Hall Westminster, which was built in 1912 and has a prime
central London location next to Westminster Abbey and Big Ben.
The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra played in the
Great Hall with 50 musicians, supported by a choir
of 100.
