The Mission Volume 5 Issue 7 2014-2015 Third Nine Weeks Arkadelphia JROTC Malvern Drill Meet On January 24th, the Junior ROTC performed in the Drill Meet at Malvern. There was also a physical training (PT) portion. The Arkadelphia Junior ROTC had two PT teams– one female and one male. C/MAJ Victoria Sharma, C/SFC Cole McMillan, C/CSM Kimberly Holt and C/SGT Mehkia Wilson performed in the Coed Color Guard. The cadets did a great job and pushed themselves to do better. There were 17 teams at the event. Arkadelphia had two Land Navigation teams and two Ruck March teams. Land Navigation team 1 included C/MAJ Victoria Sharma (the captain of the team), C/CPT Tea Burgess, C/PV2 K'lee Zeagler and C/PV2 Kayle Harcrow. Congratulations to the Land Navigation team 2 for getting 2nd place in the Land Navigation competition. Land Navigation team 2 included C/SFC Cole McMillan (the captain of the team), C/CPL Braxton Gravett, C/CPL Parker Davis and C/CPT Tiara Burgess. Ruck team 1 included C/SGT Cody Whittle, C/SFC Griffen Smith, C/SGT Landon Simmons and C/1LT Tolman Vo. Ruck team 2 included C/SFC Ross Gillum, C/SFC Brianna Tucker, C/CPL James Whittle and C/CSM Kimberly Holt. Published by Editor C/CPT Tea and Tiara Burgess; Battalion S-5 Page 4 Cyber Patriot Open Round Competition Page 5 On February 13th, the Junior ROTC cadets and AHS students participated in the Cyber Patriot Open Round Competition. Both teams had to identify and fix cybersecurity problems on their computers. The competition lasted six hours and it took a lot of patience and endurance to get through the competition. Both teams made it to the Gold Tier (2nd highest tier) and the AHS team earned 2nd place in the state round. Military Ball On March 13th, the Junior ROTC hosted their sixth annual Military Ball at Henderson State University in the Garrison Center. The Guest Speaker was Colonel Tommy Roebuck. The battalion commander, C/LTC Matthew Bosley, presented a certificate to Chief Master Sergeant C. B. Perdue. C/SFC Cole McMillan, C/SFC Will Andrews, C/SGT Parker Davis, and C/CPT Tolman Vo presented the colors. The 2015 Seniors for JROTC are: C/CSM Josh Thomas, C/SGM Shaylene Porter, C/CSM Kim Holt, C/PV2 Kelsey Moss, C/SGT Treywan Hearn, C/PFC Mark Adair, C/MSG Jeremy Terry, C/2LT Daniel Wheaton, C/SSG Sierra Adams, C/CPT Kaylan Watson, C/SGT Theotis Purifoy, C/CPT Angel Eley C/LTC Matthew Bosley, C/CPL Lindsey Smith, and Elick Neff. Not pictured was C/MSG Xavier Jones.
