Da Assisi a Milano” Exhibition at Palazzo Reale (Visit in two groups) Group I 08:30 am – Departure time (approx. return to the Hotel at 11.00 am) Visit duration: 1 hour (limited number) Group II 10:30 am – Departure time (approx. return to the Hotel at 01:00 pm) Visit duration: 1 hour (limited number) “The Last Supper” The Last Supper is the greatest masterpiece of Leonardo da Vinci commissioned by the Duke of Milan, Ludovico il Moro in 1494. The Duke chose the church of Santa Maria delle Grazie as a burial place for his family, not surprisingly, there was also buried his wife Beatrice d 'Este Leonardo da Vinci painted the Last Supper in the refectory of Santa Maria delle Grazie, where it still stands, in a period that goes from 1494 to 1497 “Giotto, l'Italia. Da Assisi a Milano” The great masterpieces by Giotto on show in Milan, as last big event organised during the Expo period. The exhibition, sponsored by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and the Municipality of Milan Culture, brings together 13 works, none of which has never been exhibited in Milan or gathered together in one event. The works track the route taken by Giotto through Italy of his time, in about forty years of extraordinary activity. Originally opened in 1932, the hotel has been completely renovated by Milanese designer Marco Piva. Excelsior Hotel Gallia, next to the Centrale Railway Station is the entrance gate to Milan, where fashion, design and cuisine come together. EVENT LOCATIONS LTIC CONFERENCE (22nd October) PALAZZO SERBELLONI Corso Venezia 16, 20121 Milano Palazzo Serbelloni is a Neoclassical palace in Milan. The palace at the site was constructed for the aristocrat Gabrio Serbelloni. In the late 1700s, the palace was extensively reconstructed including the façade by Simone Cantoni. The palace was used in 1796 for three months by Napoleon and Josephine. GALA DINNER (22nd October) PALAZZO VISCONTI Via Cino del Duca 8, 20122 Milano Palazzo Visconti di Modrone, also known as Bolagnos building, is a historic building built in '600, situated in the center of Milan. In '700 the palace was already famous for the style much more rich and exuberant than usual Milanese homes, which tended to more lavishly decorate the interior rather than the exterior.
