Ltd worked with the Enviros Leachate Team on the Gremista Landfill leachate treatment plant on Shetland. Gremista was chosen because of its smaller landfill footprint than alternative sites. It’s reduced construction costs & close proximity to the Engery Recovery Plant offered minimal transport requirement. This plant is one of the first to be designed for the new breed of UK landfills which incorporate pre-treatment of waste before the residue only goes on to landfill. This site is monitored to demonstrate that there is no escape of gas or leachate. Environmental Issues 2012 will see Garriock Bros. Ltd Coventry improve recycling by 100%. On site there will be multiple facilities for both recycling & general waste. Our non recyclable rubbish will not be sent to landfill but will be used as waste to energy. Recycling will also be carried through to the offices & here we will also utilise confidential document shredders to ensure 100% security. These actions will be confirmed by official certification . By working together with us you will also be aiding the reduction of our carbon footprint.
