There are one of the major EPC located in New Delhi with site offices in many countries especially in the African continent. ERL Marketing International (ERL Mint) won the huge order for the supply and commissioning of 148 Control & Relay Panels from 33 to 330kV with Substation Automation System for the Power Holding Company of Nigeria through Fedders Lloyds Corp Ltd. The order is worth 3 Million USD ERL Mint had to compete with Siemens and NARI to bag this order. Fedders Lloyd may be a new customer but will be a permanent one. We had consistently worked to bag this order. The ERL Mint and ERL team spent a lot of time to research panel by panel going into the BOM and eliminating all those items that were not necessary. In this process, the EPC realized what exactly was in store for them. We gave them just exactly what was needed. We agreed to match the competition point by point and explained the pitfalls the customer may encounter. We made them feel that taking the order was secondary while our primary task was to help them understand the intricacies of the CRP and substation Automation. We believe that our USP has been giving the customer the exact requirement at a competitive price, offering the best in Relays and SAS and meeting their stringent delivery schedules. The project will commence in March 2013 and get completed in June 2013. We congratulate the teams who worked together to win this order ERL Mint Bags Papillon Power Order Whenever a new customer enters our fold, it's cause for celebration at ERL Mint. We have recently bagged an order from Papillon Power Trading Co. WLL, Bahrain. The well-known company has placed an order for 12kV Ring Main Units (RMUs). We heartily congratulate the team who had worked out a unique strategy to win against strong contenders Lucy and Schneider. Our winning edge was gaining project based approval from the Bahrain utility EDD, projecting the right price and strong support from our agent. The scope of work is the supply of 3nos RMU and the end user will be the Peninsular Farm. The time frame is 10 weeks. We are sure the team will do a fabulous job 4 VOL 32 DEC 2012 - JAN 2013 ERL NEWSLETTER ERL Teams Battle it Out at the Quality Quiz An Audio Visual Quiz on quality was conducted at the Hosur unit of ERL on the special day 12.12.12. We had 5 teams comprising 5 members each drawn from different functions. The event was spread across three rounds. The first one was a multiple choice question. The second was role play where each team was given a quality concept as their topic and 5 minutes to present it in the form of a role play. This gave us amazing insights into different quality concepts and the participants displayed immense talent in execution. The third round was a audio visual round where a random visual was played and each team had to interpret what quality concept was hidden in the visual displayed. The participants involved themselves enthusiastically and came up with wonderful and creative answers to each question thrown at them. The team consisting of Mr. A. Vishnuprasad (PSB-Assembly), M r. G . S e k a r ( M a i n t e n a n c e ) , Mr. C. Satish Kumar (PSB – Tendering), Mr. K. Ravichandran (SWG Operations) emerged as winners after beating the tough competition. Mrs. R. Mathuravani, Mr. A. Raja and Mrs. M. Kalarani were the judges. The quiz masters were Mr. K. Satish Kumar and Mr. B. Buvanesh Kumar from the HR team. Mr. R. Yogeshwar Rao was the official scorer. The quiz was a huge success. 5 VOL 32 DEC 2012 - JAN 2013 ERL NEWSLETTER ERL's Hosur Plant Wins State Safety Award Labour Minister, Govt.of Tamilnadu to our E x e c u t i v e s M r. I . K .
