William & Deborah Sasso:
Our honorees, Bill and Debbie Sasso, were chosen as the ‘stars’ of our Behind the Scenes event because
of their spirit of generosity, leadership and compassion. We celebrate them today as examples of a dynamic couple who, with a sincere and unassuming commitment to helping others, embody our mission
of empowerment, excellence through community activism and dedication to affecting social change.
Bill and Debbie have been married for forty years, and have two sons.
Deborah Sasso
Debbie Sasso served on the President’s Advisory Board of the John W. Hallahan Catholic Girls High
School for eight years. In 2008 she was the Special Events Co-Chair for the Free Library of Philadelphia Foundation’s Borrowers Masquerade Ball. In 2010 she was the co-Host of Michael Lewis Author
Event for the Free Library of Philadelphia and the Co-Chair of Philadelphia Hospitality’s Vision for
PhiladelphiaAward. Also in 2010, Debbie was a Dinner Committee Member for the American Catholic

more than 195 attorneys in Stradley Ronon’s six offices in Philadelphia, Malvern and Harrisburg, Pa.;
Wilmington, Del.; Cherry Hill, N.J.; and Washington, D.C.
During his 30-plus years of experience, he has counseled privately and publicly held companies and
religious and nonprofit organizations in various matters, including general corporate and securities
law, mergers and acquisitions, health care, tax and real estate.
Mr. Sasso was the 2006 recipient of the William Penn Award, the highest honor bestowed upon a business person in Greater Philadelphia. Awarded annually since 1949, recipients are chosen for their outstanding contributions toward the betterment of the region, their professional accomplishments and
their commitment to charity as well as to the community.
Notably, Mr. Sasso and the firm were selected as the 2009 Anti-Defamation League (ADL) Americanism Award recipients – which recognized their commitment to the Greater Philadelphia community
and to the values of ADL.
In 2006, Mr. Sasso was honored with the American Jewish Committee’s Judge Learned Hand Award,
presented each year to a member of the Philadelphia Bar whose achievements exemplify the high principles and noble traditions associated with Judge Learned Hand.
He was also included in the 2011, 2010, 2009, 2008 and 2007 editions of The Best Lawyers in America,
regarded as a definitive guide to legal excellence in the United States. Selection for Best Lawyers is
based on a peer-review survey in which more than 1.8 million individual evaluations are reviewed. In
addition, Mr. Sasso was named a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer® consecutively since 2004 by a vote of
his peers.
