A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING AND AWARDING BID TO COLLIER COUNTY FORD, NAPLES,
FLORIDA, FOR THE FURNISHING OF ONE TRUCK FOR SANITATION PURPOSES AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER THEREFOR; RESCINDING
THAT PORTION OF RESOLUTION NO. 1646 AWARDING THE BID FOR SAID TRUCK TO
BILL GALLMAN G.M.C. OF NAPLES.
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 1646, adopted by the City Council on June 2,
1971, a bid was awarded to Bill Gal lman G.M.C., for the
furnishing of one truck L.P. Gas powered with automatic
transmission, equipped with refuse compaction body and frontend loader; and
WHEREAS, subsequent to the award of said bid, the City Manager has
been notified that said equipment cannot be supplied in
accordance with the specifications; and
WHEREAS, Notice to Bidders was re-advertised in the Naples Daily
News calling for bids on said equipment and the bids
were received and opened on July 15, 1971; a tabulation
thereof is attached hereto and made a part of this
resolution; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of Public Works have
recommended that the bid for said equipment be awarded to
the lowest and most responsible bidder, CollierCounty Ford,
Naples, Florida;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Naples,
Florida:

That the portion of Resolution No. 1646 awarding the
bid to Bill Gallman G.M.C. of Naples for the furnishing
of one truck L.P. Gas powered with automatic transmission,
equipped with Refuse Compaction Body and Front-end loader
in the amount of $19,620.85, is hereby rescinded.
That the bid for the furnishing of one truck L.P. Gas
Powered with automatic transmission, 20 cu. yd. capacity,
equipped with refuse compaction body and front-end loader,
is hereby awarded to Collier County Ford, Naples, Florida,
in the amount of $21,488.48 - 180 days delivery.

purchase order for the bid herein awarded,

Attached are bids received through the readvertisement
for garbage truck equipment with compaction body, 20
yard capacity.
Bids have been reviewed by the Public
Works Director and he has recommended that the bid
submitted by Collier County Ford in the amount of
$21,488.48 be accepted. I concur with his recommendation and offer a resolution for your consideration.

Mrs. Misner and Gentlemen:
Bids were received on May 25, 1971 for sanitation equipment, for one truck equipped with refuse compaction body,
side loading, 6 cubic yard capacity and one truck LP
gas powered with automatic transmission and with refuse
compaction body and front end loader. Bids were submitted
to Council at a meeting held June 2nd and the Council
—awarded the bid to Bill Gallman GMC.
Since that time we have received word from the supplier
that Item 2, the LP gas powered refuse compaction body
and front end loader could not be supplied to meet the
specifications.
We have, therefore, re-advertised for
the one piece of equipment and the tabulation of the new
bids will be submitted to Council for consideration on
July 21, 1971.

Bids were received on July 15, 1971, for one - Truck

Loader, 20 cu.yd. capacity, L.P. Gas Powered with
Automatic Transmission.
I recommend the award for this truck be made to
Collier County Ford, North Tamiami Trail, Naples,
Florida, for the price of $20,383.68 plus the alternate
of $1,104.80 for automatic transmission, or net price
of $21,488.48 - 180 days delivery.
This is the low bid for the truck with the automatic
transmission.
Estimate for this truck was $22,000.00.A tabulation of Bids is attached.
