PRAYER AT END-BEGINNING OF THE YEAR
ORACIÓN DE FIN Y PRINCIPIO DE AÑO
Lord God, master of time and eternity, yours is today and
tomorrow, the past and the future. As this year ends I thank
you for all that I received from you, for life and love, for
flowers, air and sun, for joy and sorrow, for all that could
have been and for all that could not happen.
I offer all that I did this year, the work I was able to
accomplish and the things that passed through my hands and
what with them I was able to build.
construir.
I offer you those persons I loved through these months, those
closest to me and those far away; those who gave me their
hand, those whom I was able to help, those with whom I
shared life, work, sorrow and joy.
Also, dear Lord, today I wish to ask forgiveness: for time lost
or used frivolously, for useless words and squandered love,
for empty deeds, work poorly done, for living without
enthusiasm. And for prayer that little by little I left to another
time and which now I offer you. For my forgetfulness,
carelessness and silence.
olvidos, descuidos y silencios.
I pause at the threshold of the new year and I offer you its
many days; only you know how many I will see to the end.
Today I ask for peace and joy, for strength and prudence, for
clear vision and wisdom.
I wish to live each day with optimism and goodness, bringing
to each moment a heart filled with under-standing and peace.
Do close my ears to falsehood and my lips to lying, selfish
and cutting words. Open me to all that is good; may my
spirit be filled with blessings and may I shower them along
my path.
Cierra
tú mis oídos a toda falsedad y mis labios a palabras
derrame a mi paso.

MESSAGE OF STEWARDSHIP
Joseph’s obedience to God was not a onetime thing. His
attention to the angel’s warning kept Jesus from being
murdered by Herod and led to the fulfillment of the prophecy
that the Messiah would be a Nazarene. Fidelity to God’s will
assures the best use of my talents, too!
