LIGHT WEIGHT officially formed in October 2013 and has quickly
become a recognizable name and a highly recommended group. The band
has been invited to play private and corporate events, weddings, casinos, and
country clubs, as well as being asked to play at a political rally for the Vice
President of the United States, Joe Biden, and Secretary of State, Hillary
Clinton. The line-up consists of Katie Blake on lead vocals and keyboard, Matt
Rinkunas on guitar, Joe O’Malley on bass, and John Gallas on drums.
Each member stems from an extensive musical background that creates Light
Weight’s solid sound and chemistry, Katie began as lead vocalist of an all-girl
original group The Window Shoppers and performed solo at events and
functions throughout the area. Joe and Matt started as members of the
original band Just a Thought and later moved to become the drummer and
guitarist of popular bar band 1 Hot Mess. John received his first drum set when
he was two and has been playing ever since. He spent the last three years
drumming for Until Further Notice.
Light Weight, often referred to as the “jukebox of cover bands”, plays a
significant amount of ‘60s, ‘70s, ‘80’s, and ‘90’s as well as today’s hits. The group
appeals to every generation’s musical taste while making each recognizable
song their own. Light Weight prides themselves on a diversified set that
entices each audience member to participate. Excited and determined to
make a big impact, Light Weight intends on a professional high-energy
presentation while simultaneously enjoying a couple of beers with friends.

our cocktail hour, which they played through their system. Two weeks before the wedding I was having some issues
