‘Studying with the University of
London International Programmes
enabled me to attain a prestigious
degree, while pursuing my dream.
Without the flexibility that the
degree offered me, I would
have been unable to continue
my career as a singer. While my
professional goals are oriented
towards my singing career, my
experience with the University
of London has equipped me
with invaluable life skills. I have
grown personally, academically,
and most importantly as a global
citizen. I would recommend
this degree to anyone seeking
quality education with just
enough flexibility to pursue his
or her creative endeavours.’

Why study
with the
University
of London?
Founded in 1836, the University
of London is one of the
oldest and most prestigious
universities in the UK.
A trusted name in
global education
The University of London established
the University of London International
Programmes in 1858 to make its
degrees accessible to students
across the world. The International
Programmes now has over 50,000
students worldwide, including more
than 2,900 in Pakistan. Among our
alumni are many people who have
shaped the world we live in, including
leaders of business and industry, judges,
authors, scientists and politicians.
Seven past students have won Nobel
Prizes, among them Nelson Mandela.
An Honours degree
in 3 years
You can complete your Bachelor’s
degree with Honours from the University
of London in only three years, meaning
you will complete your degree a
year earlier than people taking local
qualifications. Three-year Honours
degrees are standard in British education.
A programme
to suit you
Whether you’re a school-leaver, or
a professional looking to take your
career to the next level, the University
of London International Programmes
has a programme to suit you. You can
choose from over 100 degrees, diplomas,
certificates and individual modules at
undergraduate or postgraduate level. A
full list of our courses can be found at:
londoninternational.ac.uk/courses
A UK education at
a reasonable price
Studying with the University of
London International Programmes is
much more affordable than going to
London to study on campus. With no
travel, relocation or accommodation
costs, it represents great value for
money. What’s more, you can continue
working full-time and spread your
payments across your degree.
Standards you
can rely on
You can be confident in the standard of
your University of London degree. The
standard of assessment is consistent
wherever you study, whether on
campus in London, or anywhere in
the world. You are assessed using
dependable methods, such as unseen
examinations. This helps to ensure that
your University of London qualification
is of the same high academic
standard however it is achieved.

London, LSE, Queen Mary, Birkbeck,
and SOAS. Four of these Colleges
(UCL, King’s, LSE, and Queen Mary)
are ranked in the top 50 worldwide
for law (QS World Ranking 2015). You

Postgraduate Laws Programme
The Postgraduate Laws Programme
is directed by the law schools at UCL
and Queen Mary, which are ranked
11th and 45th respectively in the
world for law (QS World Rankings
2015). The programme offers a wide
choice of courses and more than 30
specialisations. You can study for a
Postgraduate Certificate, Postgraduate
Diploma or Master of Laws (LLM).
MSc Professional
Accountancy
This master’s programme enables
you to gain an MSc degree and your
Association of Chartered Certified
Accountants (ACCA) professional
accountancy qualification at the
same time. Compared with the cost
of studying for an accountancy
qualification and a master’s separately,
this will save time and money for ACCA
students. ACCA affiliates and members
can gain this master’s by studying one
module and a project, complementing
their professional qualification. The
UCL School of Management provides
academic input to the degree.
International Foundation
Programme (IFP)
The IFP is equivalent in standard
to A levels in a UK school, and has
been designed to prepare you for
undergraduate study. Successful
completion of the programme
gives you guaranteed entry to most
undergraduate programmes offered
through the University of London
International Programmes, and also
meets the entry criteria for many
other universities. The IFP must be
studied at a recognised teaching
institution (see pages 16-17 for a list).
Arooj Aziz
LLB (Hons), 2010, and LLM, 2014
‘Having completed my
LLB from UoL, I knew
an LLM from the same
university would be
a good option. The
programme was structured in such
a way that it always challenged my
thought process and gave me a
better perspective on international
law. This degree helped me to get a
job as a lecturer in a local university
where I teach Bachelor of Laws.’
After completing her LLB, Arooj
worked in a law firm for two years
before enrolling for the LLM to
pursue a career in academia.
Khawaja Hussam
Ud Din Roomi
BSc (Hons) Business
Administration, 2014
‘I chose this University
of London degree
because it is from one
of the world’s most
prestigious universities,
and I could study the BSc Business
Administration in Pakistan. I enjoyed
the different subjects I studied
as they provided me with great
knowledge that is helping me in
my career at my family-owned
business, the Mahmood Group.’
Since completing his degree, Hussam
has been working as an executive
director in his family’s textile
business, the Mahmood Group.

Nida Sohail
Chaudhary
BSc (Hons) Economics, 2014
‘I wouldn’t have been
able to do my master’s
from LSE had it not
been for the University
of London International
Programmes scholarship. When I
got to LSE I found my BSc studies
had equipped me with in-depth
knowledge, and familiarity with
the teaching style and examination
format in the UK. So I feel that
the University of London degree
put me at an equal footing, or
perhaps even an advantage to the
other students on my master’s.’
Nida earned a First Class degree and
was awarded a scholarship to do an
MSc Economics at LSE. She plans to
pursue a teaching career in Pakistan.

SNL Financial
‘I have found University of London
graduates to be competent individuals
with strong communication and
problem-solving skills that allow
them to add further value to their
respective departments. They exhibit
professionalism and exceptional
understanding of business ethics. With
an educational background in a diverse
field of study, the UoL graduate thinks
outside the box and is able to properly
articulate their thoughts while keeping
the perspectives of others in mind.’
Qasim Malik, Senior Manager,
Human Resources, SNL Pakistan
SNL Financial is a global provider of
business intelligence. Over the past
few years, it has hired University of
London graduates in its Pakistan
office for a variety of roles.
Cornelius, Lane
& Mufti
‘Compared to any local law programme,
the University of London programme is
much better, in particular the manner
in which graduates are examined to
test their ability to understand and
apply legal concepts. The firm has
an internship programme in which
fresh graduates from local and foreign
universities are hired. It has been
consistently observed that University
of London graduates demonstrate a
stronger conceptual understanding
of law and good work ethic.’
Waleed Khalid, Partner, Cornelius,
Lane & Mufti, Pakistan
Law firm Cornelius, Lane & Mufti,
which has offices in Lahore and
Islamabad, has hired approximately
15 University of London International
Programmes graduates.
Hassan Ahmed
BSc (Hons) Economics
and Finance, 2011
‘I started my SNL career
from SNL’s Islamabad
office. My first role was
that of a support to
SNL’s Europe-based
team and clients, and my University
of London degree was what set me
apart from other colleagues. Being
an international, UK-based degree,
it immediately resonated with the
hiring managers and gave them the
confidence to trust my knowledge.
Currently, I am working with one
of the top 5 investment banks in
the world on developing their risk
assessment models. I have my UoL
degree to thank for giving me the
ability to collaborate meaningfully
with such industry veterans.’
After beginning his career in
the Pakistan office of global
business intelligence company
SNL Financial, Hassaan gained
a transfer to the London office,

the best law degrees

sides of the picture. I was even able
to participate in extracurricular

Graduating
from the
University
of London
The award you receive
When you graduate, you are awarded
a University of London degree,
diploma or certificate. The final
parchment includes the University
of London logo and signature of
the Vice-Chancellor, and indicates
which University of London College
conducted your examinations.
Graduation ceremony
in London or Pakistan
You may attend the University of
London International Programmes
graduation ceremony in London.
This is usually held in March and
presided over by the Vice-Chancellor,
or Chancellor, HRH The Princess Royal.
If you attend a teaching institution,
you also have the option of attending
your institution’s graduation ceremony
in Pakistan. These ceremonies are
often attended by senior academic
staff from the University of London.
Mujtaba Raja
LLB (Hons) 2014
‘Getting to go to
the graduation
ceremony in
London was an
overwhelming
experience, and
hearing your name called across
the stage – nothing beats it. It
feels amazing to be an alumni
of the University of London and
I look forward to an ever-lasting
connection to the University.’
After completing his LLB in
Pakistan, Mujtaba moved to
London to do his Bar Professional
Training Course. He plans to work
in litigation in Karachi. Watch a

you graduate. On graduation, you

of London International Programmes
Alumni Association, which has over
100,000 members worldwide. The
Alumni Association provides a range
of opportunities to stay in touch with
the University and fellow graduates.
Izzah Kamal Meyer
BSc (Hons) Economics and
Management, 2010
‘Having the
University of
London on my CV
definitely got me a
positive response
from employers.
It helped me land a job at the
National University of Sciences
and Technology (NUST) – a top
university in Pakistan – as an
Assistant Manager in the Industrial
Liaison Office. Another area where
this degree came in handy was
when I was applying for graduate
school. I got accepted to both
New York University (NYU) and
Columbia University. I chose
the latter to pursue a master’s
in economics and policy.’
Izzah is now a data analyst
at the Institute of Education
and Social Policy at NYU.
