Set Up Guide
Step 1 – Setting up the physical hardware connection
i. Please refer to the diagram in the Business Broadband Self-Installation CD
for the installation layout.
ii.Approximately 15 seconds after successful set up, all your wireless modem
indicator lights will be lit and not blinking. If the DSL indicator is still blinking,
please double check the physical set up.

Step 2 – Verification process
i. The Business Broadband Self-Installation CD will verify your PC’s/laptop’s minimum requirements and ensure your connection is ready for activation.

Step 3 – Activating your Business Broadband account
i. Upon successful verification, an activation screen will be shown and you are
required to fill in the following information:
1. Login

2. Password
3. Telephone number
4. Mobile phone number
5. NRIC/BR/Passport number
Note:
• Please refer to the Multimedia Confirmation Slip provided to you during
registration for your login and password.
• Telephone number – the telephone number registered for Business Broadband.
• Mobile phone – the mobile phone number you submitted during registration.
ii. Click the‘Submit’ button and wait for the response.
iii.Please note that the activation process will not be successful if the
following occurs:
1. Wrong login and password information is entered.
2. Activation is done with a different telephone number.
3. More than 3 activation attempts using the same PC/network card.
4. Wrong NRIC/BR/Passport information is entered.

Step 4 – Wireless account setup
i. After successful activation, a wireless profile screen will appear for you to
fill in the following information:
1. SSID
2. WEP key (128-bit)
ii. Click on the ‘Submit’ button to configure the information in the wireless
modem. Once successful, the CD will proceed to create a wireless profile
on your PC/laptop.
Note:
• SSID – Service Set Identifier is a name that uniquely identifies a wireless network.

• WEP KEY – Wired Equivalent
Privacy Key is a security code
used on wireless networks.
It is important to secure your
wireless connection against
unauthorised access. There
should be 13 alphanumeric
characters (0-9, a-z) in total.

Step 5 – Wireless profile setup
i. Please unplug the RJ45 cable from your computer. Enable your wireless
adapter on your laptop/PC. Some laptops have an integrated wireless card,
please turn on the wireless adapter.
ii. The CD will proceed to test the wireless connection and save your wireless
account information in your PC/laptop to ensure easier access to the Internet.

power connection works properly.
If the light is off, it means the
main power to the modem is OFF.
Check the power supply adapter
and the power on/off button at the
back of the modem.
After you have checked the steps
above and still no light is observed,
your wireless modem might be
faulty.
Please call TM Customer Care at
100 to report the problem.

When in use, a fast flashing light

If the light is off, try to restart the
modem by switching it on and off.
If still no light is observed, the
wireless function of your modem
might be faulty.
Please call TM Customer Care at
100 to report the problem.

A steady yellow light indicates your line is syncronised and is
ready to communicate with the
Business Broadband network.

When you switch on the modem,
it is normal for the light to flash for
some time before it becomes stable.
If the light does not light up after
3 minutes, please check whether
the phone cable is plugged-in correctly.
Try to by-pass the modem splitter to
get a connection. Refer to Step 1
on page 12, to see how to correctly
hook in your hardware. In the
event you use multiple phone line
extensions, make sure the modem
splitter is installed right after the
wall socket. If you need to use
multiple phone line extensions,
please ensure they are hooked
on the PHONE port of the modem
splitter. Refer to the diagram on the
next page.

If the light is still off, it could be due to:
• Your phone cable is not properly
plugged-in to the wireless modem
or the cable is faulty.
• The modem splitter is faulty.
• Your telephone line has a problem
establishing a connection with the
Business Broadband network/
Internet connection.
Try to restart the modem by
switching it on and off. If there is still
no light, please call TM Customer
Care at 100 to report your problem.

A steady green light indicates the
wireless modem is ready to access
the Internet with your PC/laptop.
When in use, a fast flashing light
indicates the wireless modem is
sending and receiving data from the
Internet to your PC/laptop through
the Ethernet or WLAN connection.
If the light is off, it means your PC
or laptop is not ready to access
the Internet. Please check whether
the phone cable has been pluggedin correctly and try to by-pass the
modem splitter to get connected.
Refer to Step 1 on page 12, to
see how to correctly hook in your
hardware. Please also check your
settings on the wireless modem to
see if they are done correctly. Refer
to Step 4 on page 14. Try to restart
the modem by switching it on and
off. If there is still no light, please
call TM Customer Care at 100 to
report your problem.

the wired modem function
(Ethernet) of the modem is
already communicating with your
Network Interface Card (NIC).
When in use, a fast flashing light
indicates the wireless modem is
transmitting/receiving data from
your PC/laptop.
If the light is off, it means the
wireless modem is not communicating
with your NIC. It could be due to:
• The Ethernet cable is not properly
plugged-in to the Ethernet jack or
NIC.
• Ethernet cable is faulty.
• Modem splitter is faulty.
If the problem still persists, please
check with your PC/laptop vendor.

To enjoy wireless broadband access when you are in a TM WiFi location:
i. Enable the Wi-Fi connection on your device.
ii. Open your wireless network options and choose TM WiFi.
iii.Open your web browser and TM WiFi login page will appear.
iv. Key in your TM WiFi login ID and password.
v. Upon successful authentication, you can start surfing the Internet with
TM WiFi.
vi.To log out, click the logout button or type ‘ap.logout’ at the address bar.

e-storage is a remote storage utility where a user can store and retrieve data
via a web browser or StorageSync, a sofware client on the user’s desktop.
e-storage includes:
• Online Storage Service (OSS) - allows Internet and broadband users to store
their files on a remote storage facility through their web browser.
• Internet Backup Service (IBS)- is an automated disaster recovery solution
that enables users to backup their valuable business data offsite on a secure
data centre site automatically. It allows users to backup and synchronise
their files and subfolders from any specified folders.
