Why IIHT
IIHT has verticals (independent departments) headed by business heads with vast industry
experience. Business development, strategic alliance management, facility and support
management, core technical team, course development, relationship management, quality
control, creative and market research, placement and consultancy, HR and finance, corporate
training and IIHT global services, employ world class resources to deliver the best solutions.
Skills based on Modernized Technology
The industry is always in need of skilled professionals to harness the changing technology, so
that their skills are at par with current technologies. Hence, professionals need hands on
training skills.
Training de-skilled
The training is process driven with proper instructor manuals and training aids. There are
student and instructor manuals, ready reckoners and slide presentations to keep the trainer
focused on the subject. Lab exercises, mock tests and quizzes are well defined and simplified.
IIHT, with the help of its principal IT companies has been able to master a delivery mechanism
that is independent of the trainers. Hence it has become possible to achieve high standards
and uniformity in the quality of education imparted across all the centers.
Comprehensive content
With an experience of more than a decade, IIHT has attained an enviable deal of dexterity in
developing simplified, clear, systematic and comprehensive course content to match ready
reckoners, slides and other audio visual aids. The quality of courseware in terms of look and
content is the best that is available in the industry. Provision is made to add all updates as and
when required.
Industry recognized faculty
IIHT has a core technical team which comprises global certified trainers who are highly rated.
 20 Years of experience in training and education
 Delivered 500 millions of man hours of training

The instructors at IIHT invariably get certified by the IT principals before induction. Regular
quality audit is conducted on all aspects of training including instruction. Faculty skill
development is a continuous process at IIHT's centers.
5
Why IIHT
Online examination
Thomson Prometric and VUE are two worldwide examining bodies that conduct online
testing for all international certifications. Once a Prometric or VUE testing center is set
up at an IIHT center, students can register for the exam (such as Cisco's CCNA) on a day
and time of his/her choice and appear for the exam. The examinee gets a unique ID
number once he/she registers. At his/her pre appointed time, the student can log on for
the exam using the ID number. An objective type question paper is downloaded from the
exam site and the same appears on the screen. The student can key-in the answers. At the
end of the allotted time period, the system stops accepting the answers and the answers
have to be uploaded to the exam site. The results of the exam appear as a printout,
through the printer attached to the system. If the candidate passes the exam, the results
are communicated to the Certifying IT Company (for example Cisco issues the CCNA
Certificate to the candidate). Thus the student can appear for any international
certification exam through these testing centers and obtain a global certification from
any of the IT majors.
Assessment Management System is a similar online testing application exclusively
available to the students at IIHT centers, through which a student can get his/her IIHT
certificate.
IIHT’s Approach :
 IIHT offers industry relevant courses, world-class courseware and training
methodologies which are tried and tested. The students are taught the latest
technology advancements in the industry. This is coupled with hands-on lab sessions
where in the students are faced with simulations of live situations that may arise on a
day to day level in organizations. This equips the students to proactively act to
situations and implement the best possible solution befitting the situation.
 Courses mapped to Job specific skills
 Customize courses to the local needs
 Operate in hub and spoke model
 Deploy Indian teachers
 Offer complete delivery wherever necessary
 Teaching in English irrespective of the native language (ETIT)
 Courseware in English while training PPTs are bilingual
 Interpreters are used initially and relieved gradually once the Indian teachers take
over completely
 Teaching English made part of curriculum in non-native countries
 Tied up with Indian/global/local universities to comprehensive IT education
 Tie-up with local universities or education departments for co-certification

Curriculum Development
Philosophy:
The main philosophy behind developing any course at IIHT is to impart skills mapped to
ICT industry requirement and employability.
History of IIHT’s course & curriculum development
1. IHT upon its incorporation in 1993 began its operations by joining DOE (Department
of Electronics), Government of India to develop technicians and engineering courses and
hardware and networking.
2. IHT was the first organization in 1997 to start an elaborate course in enterprise unix
jointly with SCO (A Unix leader at that time)
3. IHT in 1997 developed two very popular comprehensive courses PC+ Network and GNet Pro (Global networking professional) on System Integration & Administration and
Networking Administration & Management. In fact imitates of such courses were
introduced by various institutes (Eg: NIIT started Global Network Plus in 2008).
4. Curriculum was upgraded every quarterly on auto mode at the same pace of the
industry
4(A).IIHT signed up and was associated with MNCs like Apple, CompTIA, Novell, SCO,
Caldera, Suse, Microsoft, Sun Micro syetms, Oracle, HP, CISCO, IBM, Symantec, NetApp,
Citrix, VMware, Cloud Era, Veritas, EMC2 and Redhat
5. When industry mulled on outsourcing infrastructure management services to
countries like India, IIHT coined the word IMS anywhere in the world by pioneering a full
fledged end to end skill course in IMS.
11
Course & curriculum always decide the acceptability
by the industry and the individual student
In general & in particular to the content of today’s IT scenario, the industry (employer)
expects the following from the prospective employee;
Skills to include:
Technical Skills
b.Language (English) skills
c.Communication Skills
d.Team Playing
Skills on current technologies
Hands on skills
Deep skills
Pre-requisite qualification (Diploma or Degree) to accompany the skills
Job / Technology specific skills
Thus it is as early as in 1997, IIHT first developed a comprehensive program on PC+
Network and G Net Pro on Systems Administration, integration and networking.
The process of developing Course & curriculum at IIHT
 We have technical panel comprising of internal SMEs and industry technology
experts.
 The panel along with members of CEC meets once every quarter to review and
discuss on various technologies and products.
 The panel indicates the course requirements.
 The core tech teams at IIHT assigns course outline and is placed before the panel.
 Panel passes its observations and opinions on the outline.
 Based on it the core technical team designs detailed curriculum.
 This curriculum after the final approval of the panel is sent to HR & Hiring Managers
of the IT organizations to map to the job specific roles.
 It is always ensured that each module is mapped to an independent skill.
 After this it is sent to accreditation agency for credit evaluation.
 Different modules are assembled to build an appropriate course to fit a job role in the
industry.
 In addition to the modules as mentioned in Clause 10, additional expertise on issuing
integrating tools and technologies is also being included. This ensures that IIHT pass
out has additional knowledge and skills to have an edge over others.
 Internship at the end of course ensures sufficient on job training to the student.
12
Training Management System
 IIHT has perfected the art of delivering & assessing IT Programs for a range of students,
whether the students are Fresh Graduates, or Experienced Corporate employees or current
students in Academic institutions by implementing a TMS-Training Management System in
its centers which is monitored by a dedicated team of executives from IIHT Corporate office.
The TMS captures data of each student from the ERP SMS and creates a personalized
account for every student.
 Each student is provided a log in id and password to log on to the IIHT TMS
 The student can view the entire break up of the course in terms of total number of sessions,
topics & duration of each session, likely dates for Quiz, tests, Module end exams,
assignments, projects.
 The students can download the softcopy of the courseware for the current module in
progress/the next module as per the schedule.
 The students can also have a weekly class schedule, trainer, pre requisite self learning for
attending the classes.
 The students would be attending a 15 minutes Quiz corresponding to the just concluded
topics through the TMS.
 The students would receive assignment alerts, and can submit the completed assignments
through TMS by uploading the same by logging in.
 The performance of the students, their attendance would be sent by SMS/Email to
parents/Guardian periodically.
 The students could send feed back forms regarding the week’s sessions, infrastructure,
trainer etc through the TMS to IIHT Corporate office TMS monitoring team.
 TMS provides inputs for the Grades of final certification including weighted average of Quiz,
Assignments, Tests, Modular exams, Project, Final exam.
 TMS qualifies the students eligibility for Internship & placements and maintains records.
 TMS is a great asset for trainers too because each trainer can download the Instructor
Manuals, teaching aids, Lab manuals, scenarios, simulators, videos, assignments, project
related details and enrich the learning experience of their students.
 TMS makes it mandatory for each trainer to develop themselves by learning new
technologies every semester and publish papers, conduct web based seminars for other
trainers on the emerging technologies.

Online Examination Process
IIHT’s Online Examination Process through the Assessment Management System
(AMS)
With an aim to make the assessment process easier for our students as well as our
partners, we at IIHT are proposing to migrate to an online assessment management
system. This system would enable make the entire examination process simple,
direction-oriented, standardized and provide our students a good level of comfort when
it comes to navigation and test-taking.
The immediate benefits of adopting such an examination mechanism is:
 Lesser turnaround time
 Minimized human intervention
 Reduction in percentage human errors
 Minimal software requirements
 Upgrade of question database is less complicated
Examination Guidelines
Every semester examination will be devised as per the examination guidelines listed
below. Any modifications or specifications will be informed well in advance.

Online Examination Process
 Centers send the indent through ERP to Examination Team. The Examination team verifies
the information and approves the Indent based on the criteria of fee due who are eligible to
appear for the examination.
 Dates for exams will be provided by the examination department. Examinations will be
scheduled only for those students who are approved by the Examination Team.
 Login ID and password to answer the online examination will be provided at least one day
prior to the date of examination. Examination will be open for 1 week. Centers can
schedule the batches for examinations accordingly. If the Students are absent for the exam
once scheduled will be marked as Absent and they will be losing their 1st Attempt which is
of no cost.
 Students who take up the online examination for Semester 1 will use the same login
credentials to answer the remaining semester examinations i.e. semester 2, semester 3,
semester 4. Hence, no fresh login ids will be issued every time. The centers need to
maintain the database of login ids carefully.
 If for any reason the login credentials of any student is not working then this should be
reported to the examination department in Corporate Office immediately. If it is reported
after the last date of the examinations, then no support will be provided.
 Maximum of 4 attempts per semester examination
 The marks sheets can be obtained from a login ID provided to the center-head on the
examination website. The results will be available in this login id as soon as the student

How IIHT Designs and conducts teacher training
strategies and training programs
A popular quote by a wise man says, “One Good trainer is more valuable than 100 books”.
It is imperative for any trainers to transfer their knowledge effectively to the
participants.
This requires technical skills, presentation skills, patience, understanding different
students’ abilities, evaluation skills etc.
Any two Trainers, invariably are not equal.
But all participants expect high level of professional training from any trainer
irrespective of their experience level.
We at IIHT understand the expectations of students and have developed our own unique
T3 to overcome these challenges.
In IIHT parlance, “T3” implies, “ Train the trainer” program.
Pre-screening: Trainers are screened first for their competency and fundamental skills,
concepts and pre requisites before attending the training program.
This is essential to maintain understanding levels among participating trainers.
Customised Programs: Depending on the skill gap, customized training programs are
designed for the participating trainers. To ensure most effective training, SMEs (Subject
Matter Experts) deliver the training for each technology.
De-skilling: The most important aspect is to ‘De-skill’ the trainer so that irrespective of
any trainer, the Quality of training delivery should be uniform across the center.
Orientation on Training skills: apart from imbibing technical skills, the participants are
trained on all aspects of training delivery





How to use manuals.
How to use Powerpoint presentations.
How to deliver lab exercises interestingly.
How to guide the students on developing assignments.
How to conceive and complete projects.

24
Feed Back System & T3 Certification
Orientation on Student development:
 Encouraging students to be more interactive.
 Motivating students to perform well in internal exams/tests.
 Developing students to conduct technical seminars
 Guiding students to present technical papers.
Feed Back system: At IIHT we firmly believe that, “ If we cannot measure something, we
would not be able to improve it”. So, as a Golden rule, we consciously follow the practice
of
First day feed back: to check whether the expectation level of student is met by the
trainer.
Mid session feed back: to find out the student’s opinion about courseware , the lab
equipments etc.
Over all Feed back: to measure the effectiveness of training delivery on all parameters.
Based on each feed back, the trainer is instructed to inculcate required correction and
deliver accordingly.
T3 Certification: Trainers need to deliver presentations to the panel before they are
allowed to train students.
Panel members involve in making the session lively and interactive by coming up with
Frequently Asked Questions to check the concepts of the participating trainers and their
confidence in subject. All trainers are required to attend and pass IIHT certification exam
before they are certified to train the students.
T3 Training Calendar: Based on the program schedule, availability of trainers,
recruited new hires, infrastructure availability, T3 can be conducted full time or for a
couple of hours every day as an on going program.
Process and Training methodology: by following IIHT’s unique training methodology
and “ hands on ‘ training process, the trainer leads the training by explaining the concepts
point by point from the powerpoint presentations displayed from the LCD projector.
IIHT understands that, Students retain only 50% of the session if they just listen to the
trainer. But all students retain 100% if each one practically complete the lab exercises
step by step immediately after the theory classes. So, at IIHT, the trainer goes on to
demonstrate the practical procedure by connecting the servers or routers and completes
step by step method of training. The students are immediately required to practice the
same steps in their PC’s for effectively understanding the concept and gaining the much
needed confidence to handle real time challenges on the job.
