GENERAL RULES FOR ALL EXHIBITORS
1. Non-Livestock Entries may be done on-line or by mail. Livestock entries
must be submitted by mail with a check for the appropriate entry fees.
2. Livestock exhibits may come from any herd or flock in Minnesota or out
of state. All other exhibits open to any resident of Minnesota.

11. All bulls must be double-tied.
12. ALL LIVESTOCK EXHIBITORS MUST USE SOUTH GATE ON 16TH
STREET.
3. All articles exhibited must be the property of the exhibitor and except
in designated classes, must be made, manufactured, or raised during the
past 12 months by the exhibitor.

LIVESTOCK HEALTH REQUIREMENTS FOR
PUBLIC EXHIBITION
4. No animal or article unworthy of a premium shall receive one, even
though there be no competition.
5. The decision of the judges shall be final in all cases except where
mistakes, fraud or misrepresentation not discovered at the time the
award is made, is apparent. In such cases, the Board of Directors
decision is final.
6. NO PREMIUMS WILL BE PAID for any display or exhibit in any
department taken out before the regularly scheduled release time.
7. Not more than one entry, except livestock, can be made in the same lot by
an exhibitor. When more than one entry is made from the same farm or
by the same family, proof of ownership must be shown to the
superintendent of that division.

POLICIES OF THE MN BOARD OF ANIMAL HEALTH IN
REGARD TO ANY AND ALL DISEASES!
All livestock will be inspected by the official veterinarian on the opening
date of the exhibition and daily during the exhibition. The official
veterinarian will order the immediate removal to a quarantine facility or
removal from the exhibition premises of any animal with symptoms of
infectious or communicable diseases. This includes livestock with
ringworm or warts.

All out-of-state cattle shown at public exhibitions are to be
accompanied by a health certificate issued by an accredited
veterinarian within 90 days prior to the opening date of the
exhibition and executed on the official health certificate
form of the state. Cattle from other states will require a
negative tuberculosis test.

Out-of-state swine are to be accompanied by a health certificate
issued by an approved veterinarian. Pseudorabies negative test is
required for swine within 30 days. For MN swine, just a negative
Pseudorabies test is required.

Market breeding ewes and rams, as well as goats, must have an
official scrapies ID tag. Wethers are no longer exempt and must
also have a tag. Purebred goats that have a tattoo will be adequate
for the ID tag. MN sheep shall not be required to be dipped prior to
exhibition. Out-of-state sheep must be accompanied by a Health
Certificate certifying that the sheep for exhibition and the flock
origin have been inspected and found free of scabies or other
infectious diseases within 30 days prior to the opening date of the
exhibition.
4-H and FFA members entering in Open Class pay the entry fee and
enter before July 17, 2015.

Out-of-state goats are to be accompanied with a Health
Certificate issued by an approved veterinarian.
1. No animal shall be awarded more than one premium except for herd
sweepstakes, special premiums, or as part of a group.

All horses (horses include mules, asses, ponies, donkeys, burros
and zebras) attending public exhibitions in MN must be negative
to
an official test for Equine Infectious Anemia (EIA) within 12
months prior to the opening date of the exhibition. Proof of a
negative test
for EIA will be required for all horses admitted to exhibitions. A test is
not required for suckling foals accompanying a negative dam. Horses
will be inspected by the official veterinarian on entry day and daily
during the fair.
6.
Swine Slaughter Classes (Terminal Show). No health certificate, test
or individual identification is needed if animals are isolated in a
separate building from all other classes and all animals are
slaughtered during or immediately following the exhibition.
Common unloading chutes, alleys, and scales may not be used. A
common show ring may be used if the slaughter class is shown last.
No slaughter classes will be shown this year.
7.
Poultry, except waterfowl and pigeons, must be accompanied by
an official form indicating a negative pullorum typhoid test
within 90 days or indicate they originated directly from parent
stock testing negative within the past 12 months. Poultry must be
identified by leg or wing band.

9. No breed champion will be named unless two or more herds of that breed
are entered.
ALL DOGS OVER SIX MONTHS OF AGE must be accompanied
by a certificate of rabies vaccinat ion issued by a licensed
veterinarian.

An exhibitor may show the same animal in 4-H, FFA and
Open Class.
10. No dogs allowed in livestock buildings except those brought to regular
Dog Shows such as in 4-H.

Absolutely NO animals/poultry can be brought on grounds until
Monday, July 27, 2015.

Entry Fee for Sheep………………...$2.00 per head
All fees for stalling or pens are to be paid at same time as entry fees. Add
it to your total. You may also purchase a $20 Season Car Pass at the same
time.
2. Exhibitors must keep their stock stalls and pens in good, neat condition
and open for inspection from 10 a.m. – 10 p.m.
3. Livestock and poultry exhibitors are limited to two entries in each lot;
except when exhibit is a group, then only one entry is permitted.
4. The fair management will use diligence to ensure the safety of livestock or
articles entered for exhibition, after their arrival and placement; but under
no circumstances will they be responsible for any loss, injury, disease,
sickness, or damage done to, or occasioned by or arising from any animal
or article on exhibition, and the exhibitor shall indemnify the fair and
management thereof against all legal or proceedings in regard thereto.
5. Exhibitors making entries and not exhibiting shall forfeit all fees paid for
entries, stalls, pens and space.
6. Exhibitors must make applications for entry directly to the superintendent,
specify the number of animals or birds for which stalls, pens or coops are
desired. Applications must be accompanied by entry fees where charged.
7. No straw will be furnished. Each exhibitor is to furnish feed; hay to be in
bales. No bedding will be provided by the Olmsted County Fair Board.
8. No one except a caretaker shall stay in livestock barns at night.

RULES
1. These are Official ADGA shows, sanctioned separately for Jr. Does and
Sr. Does. ADGA rules shall govern.
2. Base date for computing age of animals is August 1, 2015.
3. The original registration certificate is required for all does over six months
of age, and will be shown to the show secretary during check-in time,
before the show begins. A stamped duplicate application (valid
for 30 days only) is acceptable for does under six months of age.
4. There is no pre-show milk out.
5. Arrival time begins at 10:00 p.m. Friday, July 31. Does should be in
their pens no later than 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 1. Paperwork for
check-in must be completed by 8:00 a.m. All animals shall be subject to
veterinary inspection prior to the show. No Abscesses, Ringworm, or
other contagious diseases will be allowed.
6. A certificate of veterinary inspection or interstate health certificate that
includes a Scrapie Premise ID number from your state shall accompany
all out-of-state does. MN animals are to be in compliance with the State
of MN Board of Animal Health Scrapie ID Program.
7. The show will begin at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, August 1. Show order will be
Alpine, LaMancha, Nigerian Dwarf, Nubian, Oberhasli, Saanen, Sable,
Toggenburg, and Recorded Grade. The order of show IS subject to
change by the show superintendent if breed numbers dictate. The Junior
and Senior shows are separately sanctioned. The Senior Division will be
judged first, and then the Junior Division will be judged.
8. Group Classes: All animals must be shown in regular classes to qualify
for groups. Does comprising groups need not be named at time of entry.
However, indicate lot number on the entry form for groups in which the
exhibitor wishes to participate.
9. Send entries as early as possible, prior to the deadline above. Group
classes do not have an entry fee. There is no limit to the number of
animals entered, however, premiums are limited to 2 per class, per breed,
per exhibitor. Groups are limited to 1 per class, per breed, per exhibitor.
10. Grand and Reserve Champions, Best of Breed and Best Doe in Show
receive ADGA Rosettes.
11. Does will be released after the show. To qualify for premiums, does must
be in place until the end of the show.
12. One tack pen is allowed per exhibitor. Requests for additional tack pens
will be considered on the day of the show.

Membership Sign-up
The membership year for the Olmsted County Ag Association runs from after the annual meeting each
November until the annual meeting the next year. The sign-up period is open now and will end at 6:00 o’clock
pm on Sunday, August 2, the last day of the 2015 Fair, as stated in our by-laws. We realize that many of you
have been in the habit of paying your dues during the fair and that is fine, but we recommend that you
consider doing the sign-up early. It’s easy to get busy during fair week and simply forget to go to the office to
complete this task. You can fill out the membership form now and send it, along with your dues of $1.00 per
member, to the fair office address shown on the form. With this done, you are assured of being eligible to
vote on any business at this year’s annual meeting which will be Wednesday, November 11, 2015. All family
members with the same address, phone and e-mail address can be listed on one form. Anyone 18 years or
over who is a resident of Olmsted County is eligible to be a member of our association.
