that Money Can Buy: Sopko
KABUL - Special Inspector General
for Afghanistan John Sopko, highlighting widespread corruption
in Afghanistan, says the war-torn
country has the best justice system
that money can buy.
In an interview published in a British newspaper on Tuesday, he was
asked to comment on how dealing with corruption in Afghanistan
compared to tackling the mafia: “It’s
different and it’s harder,” Sopko replied.
He told the Independent: “When I
was with the organised crime section, Department of Justice, you’re

KABUL - The country’s exports have increased by 30
percent in 2015 compared to
2012, while imports that remain 14 times higher than exports decreased by 12 percent,
the Afghanistan Chamber

Rangin Dadfar Spanta has
said inappropriate policies of
the incumbent government
had raised concerns about
political instability and fear
of escalation in war.

Kidnappers in
Nangarhar
JALALABAD -The Supreme
Court Chief Justice’s fatherhas
been rescued from kidnappers during an operation in
eastern Nangarhar province,
an official said on Tuesday.
Governor Salim Khan Kunduzi told Pajhwok Afghan
News Syed Hassan, the father
of Chief Justice Syed Yousuf
Halim,had been kidnapped
by unidentified men about a
week ago.
He said Hassan was rescued
as result of an operation and
tribal elders’ mediation on
Tuesday morning. He did not

Her Fighters
KABUL - Infamous Commander Kaftar, Afghanistan’s
ex-Jihadi leader and only
known female warlord, has
called on the National Unity
Government (NUG) to support her forces and mobilize
them to help secure her province - Baghlan.
Kaftar who is currently in Kabul with her commanders said
she was concerned about the
insecurity in Baghlan province and criticized government for not doing enough to
secure the province.

Defeats Singapore
2-1 in FIFA World
Cup Qualifier
TEHRAN - The Afghanistan
national football team defeated Singapore 2-1 in their
second appearance in a qualifier match for the 2018 FIFA
World Cup.
Organized in Takhti stadium
in the capital city of Tehran,
the Afghan footballers ended
the game in their favor after
they were thrashed by Japan.
The Afghan team managed
to score their first goal during
the 39th minute of the first half
of the game which was hit by
Khyber Amani.
The second goal was hit by
Yousuf Sherdil during the
78th minute of the game and
concluded the qualifier match
in Afghanistan’s favor despite
the Singapore players secured
a goal during the last minutes
of the game.
This comes as the Afghan
team had earlier faced a defeat
in a match against Singapore
earlier.
Today’s match against Singapore was vital for the Afghan
football following a heavy loss
