HEAR US: Experience, Flexibility, Commitment HEAR US, a unique nonprofit. With 25 years experience working with homeless families, Diane Nilan, HEAR US president, founder and sole staff person, knows what works and does it. Her unique vision to give homeless kids and parents the opportunity to tell their stories has opened countless eyes and hearts to the realities of invisible homelessness. HEAR US responds courageously to circumstances, quickly, without bureaucratic barriers. With ingrained sensitivity to the plight and promise of homeless kids and parents, HEAR US offers opportunities for voice and visibility rarely heard and seen in communities. Since 2005, when Diane set out in her new home/office on wheels (her personal purchase), she’s touched countless lives and opened up minds and hearts. Over 150,000 miles of mostly backroads travel has given her a perspective that fuels her passionate activism. Her commitment to challenging this nation’ s approach to homeless kids—families and youth on their own—continues to resonate from coast to coast. HEAR US offers powerful tools to help you help homeless kids.
