Hop on a City Bus Tour Dublin, Cork and Limerick all offer hop-on hop-off site-seeing tours with guides to offer entertainment and insights, with multilingual commentary available. 2. Find a Festival 5. Drink a Drop You can’t visit Dublin without tasting Guinness, better still visit the state-of-the-art Guinness Storehouse, located beside the famous brewery, Ireland’s top visitor attraction. Follow this with a trip to the Old Jameson Distillery or visit Cork’s own Midleton Distillery. Whether it’s the world renowned St Patrick’s Day Parade, the annual ‘Redhead Convention’, Lisdoonvarna’s Matchmaking Festival, the Dublin Horseshow or the Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann there is a festival for everyone! 8. Play King of the Castle You like castles and cathedrals? Ireland has an abundance! Christchurch, St Patrick’s, Blarney, Bunratty and the Rock of Cashel, for every period we have it covered. 6. Try Irish Dancing 3. Cities by the Sea Experience live Irish dancing and traditional music, (popularised by Riverdance), in some of the many Irish pubs or traditional Irish venues across the country. West Cork is renowned for its wild beaches and jagged peninsulas; and for its Irish-speaking islands like Cape Clear and Sherkin. Within half an hour of Dublin city centre, you could find yourself bobbing along in a small boat on the way to Dalkey Island or Ireland’s Eye. Galway is as much a city as a staging post for what lies beyond – Ireland at its wildest. Within a few hours you’ll be winging your way from Maam Cross to the harbour town of Clifden, or the coral beach at Carraroe. Before its closure in 1924, Dublin’s Kilmainham Gaol housed some of the most famous political and military leaders in Irish history. Similarly Cork City Gaol offers a fascinating insight into the life of prisoners in the 19th century. 7. Go to Gaol 4. Grab a game Whether it’s Gaelic football, hurling or camogie, the experience encapsulates everything that’s synonymous with the Irish. “It’s a rip-roaring good time, it’s tribal and about deeply engrained rivalries. But it’s always respectful.” Dean Goodison (Freelance Sports Writer and Reporter) 16 For more see www.discoverireland.ie 9. Visit the Animal Kingdom Tucked away in the central Phoenix Park, Dublin Zoo is Ireland’s most popular family attraction and with over 1 million visitors a year. Visit Ireland’s biggest wildlife park, Fota Island, only 15 minutes from the heart of Cork city with everything from cheetahs and giraffes to penguins and zebras. 10. Pop into a Pub There’s not much that has been said about Irish Pubs, that hasn’t been said in Irish pubs. These trusty little tabernacles are famous for their creamy pints, cosy snugs and quick-witted craic. 2014 JANUARY FEBRUARY MARCH APRIL 01 MTWTFSS 02 MTWTFSS 03 MTWTFSS 04 MTWTFSS 12345 6 7 8 9101112 13141516171819 20212223242526 2728293031 1 2 3456789 10111213141516 17181920212223 2425262728 31 1 2 3456789 10111213141516 17181920212223 24252627282930 123456 7 8 910111213 14151617181920 21222324252627 282930 MAY JUNE JULY AUGUST 05 MTWTFSS 06 MTWTFSS 07 MTWTFSS 08 MTWTFSS 1234 56789 10 11 12131415161718 19202122232425 262728293031 30 1 2345678 9101112131415 16171819202122 23242526272829 123456 7 8 910111213 14151617181920 21222324252627 28293031 123 456789 10 11121314151617 18192021222324 25262728293031 SEPTEMBER OCTOBER NOVEMBER DECEMBER 09 MTWTFSS 10 MTWTFSS 11 MTWTFSS 12 MTWTFSS 2015 1234567 8 91011121314 15161718192021 22232425262728 29 30 12345 6 7 8 9101112 13141516171819 20212223242526 2728293031 1 2 3456789 10111213141516 17181920212223 24252627282930 1234567 8 91011121314 15161718192021 22232425262728 293031 JANUARY FEBRUARY MARCH APRIL 01 MTWTFSS 02 MTWTFSS 03 MTWTFSS 04 MTWTFSS 1234 56789 10 11 12131415161718 19202122232425 262728293031 1 2345678 9101112131415 16171819202122 232425262728 30 31 1 2345678 9101112131415 16171819202122 23242526272829 12345 6 7 8 9101112 13141516171819 20212223242526 27282930 MAY JUNE JULY AUGUST 05 MTWTFSS 06 MTWTFSS 07 MTWTFSS 08 MTWTFSS 123 456789 10 11121314151617 18192021222324 25262728293031 1234567 8 91011121314 15161718192021 22232425262728 29 30 12345 6 7 8 9101112 13141516171819 20212223242526 2728293031 31 1 2 3456789 10111213141516 17181920212223 24252627282930 SEPTEMBER OCTOBER NOVEMBER DECEMBER 09 MTWTFSS 10 MTWTFSS 11 MTWTFSS 12 MTWTFSS 123456 7 8 910111213 14151617181920 21222324252627 282930 1234 56789 10 11 12131415161718 19202122232425 262728293031 30 1 2345678 9101112131415 16171819202122 23242526272829 123456 7 8 910111213 14151617181920 21222324252627 28293031 www.meetinireland.com/conferenceambassador Telephone: Email: Website: Orla Canavan 00 353 1 8847169 / Azeta Seery 00 353 1 8847189 info@meetinireland.com www.meetinireland.com/conferenceambassador FI-22334-12
