Bernadette Ruddy, the girl with the golden voice and golden red hair, hails from the West of Ireland. A small village called Attymachugh at the foot of the Ox Mountains gave birth to this unique female voice that is turning heads throughout Ireland. With her rich earthy tones and touching delivery, Bernadette is the ultimate Irish female ballad singer of today; truly an Ambassador of Song for Ireland. Pete St. John, one of Ireland’s most beloved songwriters (composer of such blockbusters as The Fields of Athenry and Dublin in the Rare Old Times), recognized Bernadette’s incredible talent, wrote a song especially for her, and which she then recorded: A Song for Mayo. The Trinity Dublin Band creates that terrific traditional Irish sound with David Hayes, recognized as one of the finest musical directors in Ireland, on piano, Peter Brown on accordion and Sarah Rogers on violin and fiddle. Add in champion Irish dancing with the Dublin City Dancers, and you have The Flavor of Ireland on U.S. Shores with Tony Kenny’s Irish Celebration!
