SAFETY
When it comes to protecting the most valuable load of all including you, your people and those who share the road, you’ll
find that Isuzu Giga Series Trucks lead the way with both active and passive safety systems. Here are some of the safety
features you will receive with your Isuzu Giga Series:
• Isuzu Giga cabs are all steel, monocoque
construction with welded strengthening
ribs and side door impact beams.
• Driver SRS Airbag.
• 3 point ELR seatbelts in all outboard
seating, drivers fitted with pretensioner.
• Brakes are dual circuit/full air/taper roller
and auto adjusting with ABS to meet NZ
Brake Regulations.
• Auxiliary retardation on all models
delivered by Isuzu X Tard (Air controlled
butterfly type exhaust) and on selected
models a secondary Isuzu Giga Tard is
available (Heavy duty permanent magnet
driveshaft retarder).
• Side Intrusion Bars to reduce passenger
injury in a side impact accident.
• All new Giga models are ECER29
crash test certified – meeting the most
stringent European standards for
driver safety.
• All new Giga can be speed limited prior
to dispatch from Isuzu NZ with one of 4
options (95km/100km/110km or unlimited).
• Door mounted heated rearview mirrors.

When designing the current Giga Series Range Isuzu considered the needs and wants of the owner and driver to make a
Heavy truck that was as pleasant to operate as a car including standard/optional features:
• All Giga models with steel suspension
are equipped with an 18 speed Road
Ranger manual gearbox and all Air
Suspension models include the 16
speed AMT (Automated Manual)
except CXY455 Manual/HAS Air.
• AMT includes optional clutch
pedal operation for low speed yard
manoeuvring, hitching and docking.
• Cruise Control.
• Multi Display System which includes
information relating to fuel consumption,
trip meter, instant and total fuel
consumption, battery voltage, engine
overheat, coolant level oil pressure
and more.
• Large door mounted heated and electric
mirrors for excellent vision.
• Keyless entry with engine immobilizer.
• Height/reach adjustable steering column
with soft feel steering wheel.

Isuzu 6WG1 engines which deliver
between 400 - 530hp.
• By using Exhaust Gas Recirculation
(EGR), Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC)
and a Diesel Particulate Diffuser (DPD)
Isuzu Giga Series Trucks are minimum
Euro IV and Japan 05 Exhaust
Emission Compliant.

Isuzu Giga Series trucks are designed to be the most durable and dependable heavy trucks in NZ. As with everything
mechanical Isuzu Trucks will at some time require servicing, repairs and parts. Isuzu in association with Holden NZ
offers superior parts facility to ensure your Isuzu stays on the road as much as possible. Isuzu New Zealand also offer an
excellent Warranty on all Giga Series to give you piece of mind and reduce your exposure to unexpected costs, should
you have an unexpected failure during the Warranty period.
• Isuzu Giga Series trucks receive a 24
month or 250,000km Vehicle Warranty,
36 month or 250,000km Powertrain as
well as 36 month corrosion cover.
• Isuzu NZ has a Service Training Centre
in Auckland which is used year round
to continually improve the knowledge
and skill base of Isuzu truck mechanics
and delivers approximately 600 days
of training a year on Isuzu engines,
transmissions, electrical systems
and more.
• Isuzu Parts are distributed across NZ
by CEVA Logistics.
There are over 10,000 lines with 22,000
part numbers worth approx $3.5m at
Isuzu’s Parts Warehouse. These parts
can be delivered to all 11 of our master
Truck Dealers as standard delivery, or if
VOR (Vehicle Off the Road) Isuzu Parts
can express ship them and have them
anywhere in NZ early the next day.
• Each year Isuzu NZ finds the 3 top
mechanics in the Dealer Network
and put them through their paces in
a week long training program before
they go to Japan to compete in a global
competition to find the best team of
Isuzu mechanics in the world. Isuzu NZ
has in the past finished as high as 2nd.
