President Harold Wolff VP President Secretary Treasurer Director Director Kay Rookhuyzen Marilyn Mohr Bob Abel Ed Carlson Janice Walker Trilogy newsletter Mel Goldman www.trilogy-now.com Dear Ms. Whittaker, Committees of Trilogy Hello, my name is Sally Wieringa My husband Larry and I live at Trilogy at Glen Ivy, a 55+retirement community near Tom’s Farms and the Glen Ivy Hot Springs. We have lived here 3 ½ years and love it. Our community is full of people who have chosen to make the most of their golden years. Many of us have down sized which enable us to have less daily maintenance of our homes and yards. This gives us the freedom to golf, take advantage of the many exercise classes that are offered, use our Fitness Center, swim in our pools and enjoy all of the planned activities that are offered right here on site. I have written an article about Trilogy At Glen Ivy because I thought your readers would find it very interesting. The Seniors Gone Wild article is about just one of the many fantastic activities that we get to participate in every year. I hope you consider this article for The PressEnterprise. But some of those typecast ideas might be changed by a vibrant group from that “older” generation who recently enjoyed a night filled with fabulous French food, wines and a chorus line of Can Can girls. Trilogy at Glen Ivy is an active senior golf course community nestled in the Cleveland National Forest just south of Corona. On March 16th, the Trilogy On the Roof Club presented another spectacular event at the community’s Pacific Crest Lodge. Residents attending Midnight in Paris were transported by the event, enjoying the sights, sounds and tastes unique to the Eiffel Tower city, replete with Can Can Girls, cabarets, artists and colorful marketplaces. Forget the bingo and shuffleboard stereotypes you night see in some retirement community brochures for the Medicare set. The women of The Trilogettes Dancers can out-cardio, and out dance many of the younger folks. With their boundless energy and fun-loving style, these Can Can kickers proved that age is only a number. Beyond the fun and wonderful memories, the fare was fabulously French—with croissants, crepes, wines and bread, cheeses and a delicious dinner topped off with fancy desserts. The event is only one of the many activities residents enjoy. There are Rock-in-Roll dances at Trilogy’s own amphitheater, Newport Beach Christmas dinner cruises and boat parades, golf outings, pool parties and trips throughout Southern California as well as organized trips to Europe and elsewhere. Anita Finkelstein choreographed our dance and directed the Can Can girls when we practiced up at the Lake Center. We were only able to practice 5 or 6 times. Often the practice schedule didn't fit into all of the girls schedules. Unfortunately, Anita had a conflict and couldn't perform with us. Karen Gross attended our practices and helped direct us and offered her expertise in dance throughout our preparation for the event.
