Streetsboro Parks & Recreation
Dear Residents:
The winter season is
fast approaching and, once
again, the City will be wellprepared for the weather
that will descend upon
our roadways! However,
we also want you and your
families to enjoy all the fun
that comes with the snow
– sledding, making a snowman or just taking
a quiet walk in one of our parks. Please make
sure you read about all the opportunities our
Park & Recreation Department has to offer and
also be sure to take a drive at night to view the
wonderful lighting displays at the intersection of
Rts. 14 and 43. Congratulations to the Parks
Department for a job well done!
Best wishes for a happy holiday season and a
very Merry Christmas to all.
What’s Under Construction You Ask
A: This Program Guide is undergoing a facelift for 2015!
We are re-designing the current Program Guide to improve the communication
of our programs, registration deadlines and general information for our users.
What Changes Are Being Made?
A: “JMMAN”!
In January 2015, the two biggest changes to our Program Guide will be its
appearance and distribution frequency. The Guide will now be produced five times
a year: January, March, May, August and November. Just remember the acronym,
“JMMAN”, to know when new programs and events will be offered throughout the
year. This schedule will better keep you informed and aware of all current program
information. Guides will continue to be distributed through our school system and
available for pick up at the Streetsboro Library, City Hall, SPRD office, and various
locations throughout the City and on our website, www.cityofstreetsboro.com.

Mayor Glenn M. Broska
It’s hard to believe
that it’s been nine months
since I began my endeavor
with the City as your Parks &
Recreation Director!
I’ve been involved with
some amazing programs
and projects and have been
able to accomplish so much
in such a short amount of
time. This year, we have completed construction
of the dog park at Thomas Heritage Park and are
near completion of a temporary parking area for
users; have re-graded an area at City Park with a
donation from “Collection Auto Group”; purchased
new swing sets for City Park with a donation from
“Classic Auto”, and our Mayor and Council have
made a commitment to make improvements
to City Park, including: replacement of baseball
field fences, repairs to infields and the purchase
equipment to maintain them. Rounding out the
year was the purchase of several new holiday light
displays for the square.
These changes are only the beginning of
what’s to come for SPRD. In time you will see a new
and improved image for the Parks & Recreation
Department. We have begun to remodel our office
to improve customer service and will continue to
make improvements to our program offerings,
facilities and marketing materials. As you can see
from this edition of the Program Guide, it is under
construction. Watch for our newly constructed
Program Guide late January 2015.
Happy Holidays! See you next year.
