In other words, the PSA cannot be given extra time that usually isn’t afforded to anyone else • Credit Recovery – PSA may not take any form of credit recovery where students are allowed to test out of certain parts of the course through a proficiency exam. PSA must retake the ENTIRE course. For example Diploma Lab at Creekside High School will not work for remediation for a PSA. • PSA is permitted to use all core courses completed from his/her 9th grade year until the time of high school graduation • Earn a 2.0 GPA or better in your core courses • Earn a combined SAT score of 820 (CR, M) or an ACT sum score of 68 (CR, M, S, E) 16 Core Courses • 3 years of English • 2 years of mathematics (Algebra I or higher) • 2 years of natural/physical science (1 year of lab if offered by high school) • 3 years of additional English, mathematics or natural/physical science • 2 years of social science • 4 years of additional courses (from any area above, foreign language or comparative religion/philosophy) • When registering with SAT and/or ACT, send scores directly to NCAA using 9999 code • Test scores must come directly from testing center • Highest sub-scores from different test dates will be combined to determine eligibility • Largest Division • No uniform set of eligibility requirements • Admissions, financial aid, practice, and competition is determined by the university • NCAA does not perform certifications for D3 bound PSA (No need to register) • No athletic scholarship aid but there is potential for academic merit aid • Focus on regional competition, shorter practices, and shorter playing season • Student Athletes must register with the NAIA Eligibility Center for athletic recruitment • Create an Account using student email Check email for verification code • General Information • Sports of interest • TRANSCRIPTS (sent from any and all schools attended) • TEST SCORES (must come directly from SAT/ACT… use code 9876) • PAYMENT (fee waiver available based on if you have used a waiver for SAT/ACT) • U.S. students who have completed their junior year of high school may obtain an eligibility determination from the NAIA Eligibility Center before graduating from high school if they meet all the following requirements: • will enroll at an NAIA institution immediately after high school graduation • have at least an OVERALL 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale at the conclusion of junior year OR have at least a 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale midway through senior year • have met minimum test score requirement (18 ACT or 860 SAT Critical Reading and Math) - best sitting used • Visit www.PlayNAIA.org • Visit http://www.naia.org/ • Email ECinfo@naia.org • Call 866-881-6242 • Contact Club coach and/or high school coach to assist with recruiting process and rules • Be proactive in the process • Your academics matter – GPAs are important in both governing bodies • Meet with your counselor if you are concerned about eligibility or have questions
