WELCOME!
Welcome to another exciting season of
concerts, recitals and productions as the
Music Department presents the 2015-2016
Music at Mesa season!
In addition to our excellent faculty and
student performances, we have many
wonderful guests coming to CMU to perform
and give master classes. We are fortunate to
continue having the generous underwriting
help from Wells Fargo Bank, Home Loan and
Savings and Karen Combs. Their support is
critical in helping bring world-class musicians
to Grand Junction. Guest artists performing
this year are Lisa Pegher, percussion, enhakē
piano quartet, Derek Chester, tenor, Filip
Lazovski, violin, Maraca2 percussion duo and
Steve Wiest, trombone (formerly with the
Maynard Ferguson Band).
It’s a special year for the choral area at
CMU, as the Concert Choir (with the CMU
Orchestra) will be giving a performance at the
Colorado Music Educators Conference.
At Best of the West 2015, the Wind
Symphony will again perform a world
premiere of a new piece, this year being
composed by Julie Giroux. The everexpanding opera program at CMU is
performing an evening of arias in November
in addition to their one-act production in
the spring. I invite you to join us for another
exciting year of Music at Mesa!

Department of Music
